Everything positive I read about this place was totally true. It is in an absolutely perfect spot, so convenient, and the free parking is just 5 mins around the corner.
Once in the alleyway via the gated entry, you could be anywhere, but you are right outside the rooms in a sunlit tranquil space. Ours where the first two rooms on the ground floor and the outside tables where right outside our door.
The rooms are very well appointed using quality materials and all is well maintained. The bathrooms are particularly special with good amenties and bags of space. The bed and bedding is what you could expect in a top hotel and the convenience of the in-room fridge and plentiful continental breakfast supplies means you won't go hungry, or lack choice.
Yvonne, our host, was so pleasant and helpful and all her advice is worth taking - she knows her business!
Bob the dog is no stranger to strangers and makes himself as welcome as you wish. You can take him for his walk if you so wish.
Next time I go to Kilkenny, I will be booking the same place for sure. I honestly cannot fault it.

I enjoyed my stay at the the Butler Court. The continental breakfast provided many choices. It was nice to eat while getting ready in the morning instead of having to be in a breakfast room by a certain time. Guests must park in a public lot; however, the proprietor will validate the ticket. It is close (walking distance) to all the points of interest in the city of Kilkenny. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.

Butler Court was a great room in a great location! Yvonne and Bob (the dog) greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. Yvonne's recommendations for dining options, sight-seeing options, etc., were very helpful. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the continental breakfast in the room was perfect -- lots of delicious fresh fruit, coffee, tea, cereal, scones, and yogurt.

My wife and I recently toured Ireland and Butler Court was the first place we stayed. Yvonne and Bob (their dog) made us feel right at home. The room was comfortable and spacious, the location idea and the continental breakfast we perfect for the two of us. Yvonne made a number of recommendations for site seeing, restaurants and pubs in the area and every place we went was stellar!

We would stay at the Butler Court again in a heartbeat!
