Yes, it was open for crazy travellers on Christmas Eve and on 25th of December we were provided with tasty breakfast and Christmas hug. Potato waffles were really good.
The room was big, I had a bath (!) in my bathroom. The room and bath room were exceptionaly clean.

We stayed here only one night, as we were traveling from Cushendall to Galway. Jackie greeted us and made sure we had all we needed. She pointed us to a wonderful little pub next door for dinner.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice and warm (considering it was below freezing outside).

If you choose to stay here, be sure to ask for the potato waffles and poached eggs for breakfast!! Wonderful.

As we were leaving, Jackie came out with a pitcher of water to help melt the ice on the windshield. She is a very sweet young lady.

My family and I stayed in Gurteen 2 nights in late July. Jackie was an excellent hostess. The room was comfortable, the food was good and the location was central for some local family type activities in the area. I would recommend this place to stay if staying in Sligo County because it is quiet, comfortable and convenient to touring. My children loved the small town and it was a good town to catch up on the lack of sleep after the flight from the US. We would definitely stay again if in the area. The old church next door fits the name.
