“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stayed here with my husband while we were visiting friends near Sligo, our room was located on the gound floor and was very spacious, beautifully decorated and with a lovely bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. There's a lovely pub in the village which was only a minute walk and the village itself is lovely. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic and the breakfast area was very comfortable, clean and again beautifully decorated. The owner Jacci was a lovely young lady, very friendly, welcoming and most helpful. All in all a lovely experience and will definitely stay there again if I'm visiting Sligo. Would highly recommend this B&B!

“nicely decorated, clean - but terrible bed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I stayed here with my husband after I picked him up at the airport in Dublin (I had already been in Ireland for 2 weeks). I knew he would be exhausted flying from the west coast of the US so I picked a place about half way to where we were headed on the Irish west coast so we could stay the night, let him catch up on sleep, get a pint and a good night's rest.
The Church View B&B is newly decorated and furnished - everything is done up in excellent taste. The rooms, bath and breakfast area were all very clean and tidy and modern. And the town was a lovely place to stay. So I almost hate to say this but our bed was TERRIBLE. maybe the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. There was no padding whatsoever. The springs were basically sticking into my back. I thought perhaps the mattress had been flipped so we even looked under the sheets to see if it was right side up, which it was. I'm honestly not THAT picky of a sleeper when I travel - I wasn't expecting some fancy mattress, but this was really the worst. I wound up putting the blanket on the floor and sleeping there. Sorry - I really did like the rest of the place, but had a terrible night's sleep.
My only other complaint was that during the day, when I was just sitting around the B&B while my husband slept, was that someone (the owner, a family member? not sure.) had put the radio on in their personal quarters, but it was so loud I could hear it all the way upstairs. and it was fairly loud, upbeat music. luckily it didn't bother my husband, who was totally wiped out, but I couldn't find anyone around to ask them to turn it down. i finally gave up trying to drowned it out with my headphones or the TV and went out for a walk for an hour. I came back to the empty B&B but the loud music was still on.
The room was very big, clean and had everything we needed (towels, hair dryer, etc) but I don't know that I would recommend this place to anyone - not unless they got new beds!

Room Tip: I'd ask to try the beds first!

“Upscale b and b in rural Sligo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

My husband and I stayed one night at Church View in September. We were given the ground floor room which was very large and had a big bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well-equipped, and the room clean and well-decorated. (Though, It doesn't have view.) Jacci was a great host and we enjoyed talking with her the next morning after breakfast about Sligo, living in Ireland, running a b and b, etc. The breakfast room is very nice -- like a small boutique hotel -- and Jacci cooked us a great breakfast. Church View is a great location for visiting south Sligo, Carrowkeel, Kesh, and Boyle. I would recommend Church View for anyone wanting to stay in a well-appointed b&b in rural Sligo and to have an alternative to the cliche "Irish" holiday.

“We stayed there on Christmas Eve - what else to say!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2010

Yes, it was open for crazy travellers on Christmas Eve and on 25th of December we were provided with tasty breakfast and Christmas hug. Potato waffles were really good.
The room was big, I had a bath (!) in my bathroom. The room and bath room were exceptionaly clean.
