I splashed out on a junior suite for our 10-year wedding anniversary. The suite lounge furniture looks like a doctor's surgery and is too uncomfortable to use. Form over function. There were several locked cupboards in the room and when our neighbours started to use their bathrooms it became obvious what was in the cupboards. We were kept awake by a series of flushing sounds and running water as cisterns were used. The TVs were of a poor picture quality. The executive lounge took a hunt around the hotel to find before the place was found on the 8th floor. Once there, the view was nice and the free drinks and canepes between 6 & 8 pm were a nice touch, as was the 2 Internet wired computers, fax machine and photo copier. The lounge sofa again was form over function. Overall ok for a one night stay but you couldn't live in this place for too long. Massive disappointment.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete your comments on www.tripadvisor.com; it really helps us to maintain our standards and focus on areas that we need to improve.

I am pleased to read that you enjoyed the Club Lounge facilities and you found the bed to be comfortable. Nevertheless I was concerned to learn of your disappointment with your bedroom and that your did not find the decor to your liking.

If you would like to discuss your feedback in further detail, please do not hesitate to contact the hotel directly at guest.relations@cpmanchester.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon,

Kind Regards,

It's taken me a while to get around to writing this review simply because I hadn't appeciated just how great this hotel was whilst I was there.

Like most people I don't bother to write a review unless something is particularly good or particularly bad.

This hotel falls into the former category.

I spent quite a few months at this hotel so feel that I can give a fairly accurate review.
The staff were very friendly and did their best to be helpful.

The rooms are spacious, my only complaints would be the wardrobes are a bit cramped and the shower cublicles could do with being a few inches wider.
An unsual complaint might be that the bedrooms are a little too large and leave you feeling slightly lost, but that's an exaggeration.

If you have access to the Club lounge you'll find it's quite comfortable and that the coffee machine is a touch nicer than the instant stuff you have in your room, combine that with the wireless internet access and chairs/sofas and you have a perfect place to retire to as you finish off your working day.

If you find yourself in the bar you'll find the staff are very pleasant to talk to (it was Pete, Tony and Gareth whilst I was staying)

The restaurant staff are happy to help although I must admit I normally ate in the bar area.

Room tip: all the rooms are good, rooms near the lifts weren't particularly noisy. 8th (executive) floor rooms are decorated differently and the toiletries change but all the rooms are a fantastic size and well equipped. Suites are nice but I didn't prefer them to normal rooms. I never stayed in the presidental suite

i stayed here with my boyfriend and sister and her boyfriend in august and we had a fantastic time. The hotel is located ina great place, we were a short walk from the centre of manchester which had a large aray of shops, the arndale centre was a 2 min walk! Printworks was across the road and we had a good night out there on one of the nights that we stayed. The hotel was clean and modern and the bathroom was lovely.

The breakfast on the other hand did not live up to much. I have stayed in many of the IHG property's and i thought for the size of the hotel and how busy it could get the breakfast was not great at all in comparison.

Another problem i incurred was after i had left manchester and headed back home to realise i had left my keys at the hotel. I rang up and the staff were more than helpful in letting me know that my keys were there, however they wanted to charge me £10 to have my keys sent home. I would understand that there may be a small charge, however much it may cost for them to send them for me, but to me this seems as though they are making money off people leaving things behind. As i said i completely understand that the hotel would be at a loss if they were paying to send everyones lost property out but i dont think it should be an opportunity to make money! I was fortunate enough to have a family member who lives in the area who picked them up and tsent them to me.
These niggles are just minor as my stay overall was fantastic. And i would stay here again, but would not forget anything the next time!!

We very much appreciate you taking the time to complete your comments on www.tripadvisor.com. I am pleased that you had a great stay with us.

With regards to your lost property, the standard £10 fee covers the additional service of packaging and dispatching items. Nevertheless I am pleased you were in the position to have the items collected as an alternative solution.

Once again thank you for your feedback, we hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind Regards

We stayed just one night but everything was great and couldn't fault our stay.

Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was 512 on the 5th floor with great views.

Breakfast in the morning was varied and hot.

Would definitely stay here again!!

This was our first visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. The location was brilliant right in the northern quarter close to the printworks and also to the Arndale. The hotel was spotless our room was on the 7th floor so we had a good view. The bed was the most comfortable i have ever slept in. The room had everything we needed inc. iron, hairdryer toiletries etc.I had forgot to pack my toothbrush and rang down to the reception and within 5mins one was brought to my room. We went to Sapoora for our meal and were pleased to find that we could get a free bus which took us there otherwise we would have forked out for a cab. We had also paid for breakfast the following morning which was ok but when we go back which we will definitely be doing i think we would just go room only. Well worth a visit!!!!

Room tip: Go for a higher floor good view and less noisy
