This hotel is an old building with bags of character. Stone steps like something you'd find in a chateau lead to large spacious rooms. Our one had a double and a 3/4 size bed which were both old but comfortable enough. The room was clean and the shower worked well. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Staff made us feel welcome and although not all spoke english the owner did and looked after us very well. If your not to bothered with fancy trimmings this hotel will do you nicely.

I stayed here for a week with a party of cyclists. We were made most welcome by the owner and her staff. The rooms were basic but clean. The layout of the hotel is quirky but determined by the age of the building. We took dinner in the restaurant every night and the meals were varied and the food well prepared and plentiful.

I have a lot of experience of French hotels: this one is quite typical of its kind: an old fashioned inexpensive town centre hotel. If you want luxury: go elsewhere. But for a good value stay and a chance to experience authentic French cooking and hospitality you have come to the right place.

Loches is a charming town with an extensive medieval pedestrianised centre, interesting museums and sites to visit and a lovely market on Wednesdays and Saturdays..
