We advised hotel in advance that we had a dog, and so upon arrival we were given a room on the second floor, very thoughtful (not), the hotel was fully booked and so they couldn't change the room! The young lady didn't understand any english at all, and my pigeon french wasn't up to much, they did say it was english spoken, not that it was such a problem. We had to go up a dangerous stone spiral staircase, actually getting onto staircase coming down was most dangerous. The room was in the attic. I was rather worried incase of a fire how we would escape?. Also the parking was just public round the corner, (we did specify we required secure private parking but after a long drive, had to wait around for a parking bay.
We normally have a meal at the hotels we stay at, in this case didn't bother - we just put our overnight bag in the room went into town,.and ate out. Anyone short sighted or not so good on their legs do not go to this hotel!!! Loches is a lovely place, and there are other hotels to stay at there.
