A two star hotel in France is not going to give you much in the way of modern amenities but I've come to learn that often you get a rustic, genuine and clean experience, and it was the case here at Logis de France.
Travelling with my husband and 20 month old daughter my heart sank when they told us we have a second floor room and no lift but they were true to their website promise and helped us with our bags. The room (30) was in the main bulding, up the most beautiful staircase, was rather dated in it's decor but it was clean. We had three rooms; a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a small middle room that was perfect for a cot. The room had super views over the mature court yard and roof tops of Loches. Yes there was some noise from the court yard but it added to the atmosphere.
The lcoation of the hotel is right in the centre of this small town with many restaurants to choose from within 100 meters.
The car park is a little bit of a challenge to find, you enter it via a public car park behind the hotel and then you need to ask reception to open the large black gate for you to enter their own secure garage.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked so my advice would be to make a reservation on arrival.
If you think breakfast is a little steep there is the most fantastic patisserie next door - they wrap everything up as though it is a present!!
Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building
