“ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

Perfect central situation, with a few parking spaces. Our room was the last left, so up 2 flights of stairs and somewhat cramped and old-fashioned. But the dinner was excellent - real quality traditional French cuisine, rather formally served.

Room Tip: book early for a room on the first floor

“Excellent character 2 star hotel - great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

After reading the rubbish reviews of this hotel, we nearly cancelled our 2 night booking, but decided to go for it. Yes, the room decoration is tired and quaint, but there are sooooo many charming and quaint additions to this hotel, we found it in keeping. Location is brilliant. The food was the best we had ever had in France.

Negatives were: need to redo the grouting on the tiles in the bathroom. Although the bathroom was clean, spacious and in some respects modern, the mildew was a bit overpowering.

“Rustic French hotel in a perfect location with secure parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

A two star hotel in France is not going to give you much in the way of modern amenities but I've come to learn that often you get a rustic, genuine and clean experience, and it was the case here at Logis de France.
Travelling with my husband and 20 month old daughter my heart sank when they told us we have a second floor room and no lift but they were true to their website promise and helped us with our bags. The room (30) was in the main bulding, up the most beautiful staircase, was rather dated in it's decor but it was clean. We had three rooms; a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a small middle room that was perfect for a cot. The room had super views over the mature court yard and roof tops of Loches. Yes there was some noise from the court yard but it added to the atmosphere.
The lcoation of the hotel is right in the centre of this small town with many restaurants to choose from within 100 meters.
The car park is a little bit of a challenge to find, you enter it via a public car park behind the hotel and then you need to ask reception to open the large black gate for you to enter their own secure garage.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked so my advice would be to make a reservation on arrival.
If you think breakfast is a little steep there is the most fantastic patisserie next door - they wrap everything up as though it is a present!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building

“W.C. setup a desaster. Difficult stairs.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

Also in room off courtyard. Yep, no sink with the wc. sink downstairs in bathroom. The ceiling of the very small toilet slopes so badly that if you are tall you will have to sit to use. You may not be able to close the door when sitting. disaster. Outside stairs in poor condition to reach the room. small bedroom. Main building, dining room, charming, Good location.

“oddest room/toilet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

lovely common areas and nice dining room and breakfast. room however was very odd. it was located outside in the courtyard on two levels. first level was small open area which was shabby, and also the bathroom, with bath bidet and sink. second level had bed, tv, AC and toilet. the toilet was quite an experience; it is in a small cupboard tucked into the eaves of the roof which meant you could hardly stand to pee - okay for the ladies, I suppose. partner had a dirty great beam just above the head when laying in bed. really nice people but room left almost everything to be desired - spend a great deal of our time thinking how the room could be easily rearranged - sad, I know.
