A week in the gite at the Logis du Bief in July you would hope would consist of lazy meals and drinks on the lovely terrace overlooking the river to the quiet public park on the other side while feeding yesterday's baguette to the ducks. It was on occasion a bit like that but, unfortunately, we had the week with several days of rain so even the outdoor theatre was cancelled each night. But, what better place to be at such a time, than in your own lovely and comfortable apartment where you can lounge with books and cook your own meals in the well equiped kitchen, taking advantage of the breaks in the weather to wander through the lovely town of Loches and visit the chateau or to go further afield. Loches is a perfect centre for visiting much of the Loire valley. A 30 minute journey takes you to many of the towns and chateaux that you would want to visit whilst staying in a relatively quiet area of the region. Jean Claude and Moha couldn't have been more welcoming, always ready for a chat and advice on where, and where not, to go, but not in any way intrusive. It really was a home from home and we concur with all the positive reviews previously listed regarding the property and also regarding the nearby Boulongerie. We didn't want to leave and we hope to return.
