The Prince de Galles was what we called home, as we stayed here at the beginning and tale-end of our trip. I'm platinum with Starwoods and booked the stay on points, but even I did not anticipate the service that we received, especially on our 2nd stay. When I book an award stay, especially at one of the Luxury Collection hotels, I always feel a little out-of-place and unwelcome at check-in. Not so at the Prince de Galles! This may easily be the most unpretentious pretentious hotel I've ever stayed at. There were 3 of us girls in an upgraded corner room, and we had plenty of space. There were several nights when all 3 of us slept in the same giant King bed and we still had room to spare. Rooms were clean, and service was fantastic, the folks at the front desk referring to us by name within the first few days of our stay. The only hiccup we encountered was when we called down to collect our complimentary bottle of wine and were redirected between the front desk and room service several times.
Our 2nd stay was at the end of our trip when our previous accommodations fell through. We didn't realize until close to 2AM the morning of our return to Paris (on a 6:30 train from Bruges), so I logged onto the SPG website and was able to book another stay within minutes. Walking into the lobby at 9, looking like death after only 2 hours of sleep, the most fabulous front desk agent (wish I got her name) checked us in without a blink of an eye, despite the early hour. She even escorted us to our room and showed us a bigger elevator because of all our bags (which we didn't know the first time around, and the lobby elevator is about the size of a closet). Perfect end to our trip!
Beds were insanely comfortable and we got the best sleeps of our trip at the Prince de Galles. Would definitely stay here again, although it's a bit far up the Champs for my preference, and we may check out the Westin by the Louvre next time.

Dear Guest, thank you for your loyalty to Starwood Hotels and Resorts and for your interesting review! We are delighted to read that the 3 of you have enjoyed both stays at the Prince de Galles and have reported your feedback with our staff.
However, we regret that you have encountered such difficulty while calling our Front Desk for your complimentary bottle of wine and will make sure it does not happen again.
We wish you a most exceptional New Year 2011 and are looking forward to welcoming you again at the Prince de Galles.
Yours sincerely,
