My wife and I booked a 4 night stay with Thierry and Serge at Au Ralenti du Lierre in Provence, approximately 40Ks west of Avignon. We ended up staying another 7 days, using this delightful and comfortable B &B as a base to explore the surrounding villages. Both our hosts were knowledgeable and helpful individuals, whose patience and kindness made this the most memorable part of our 7 week visit to Europe. The rooms are large, comfortable and tastefully furnished with modern bathrooms. Each room has been individually and creatively decorated with much care and attention to detail. Breakfasts were home-cooked using fresh local produce. This included home-baked bread, chocolate brownies, fruit salad with freshly squeezed orange juice and, of course, excellent coffee.

We took our hosts' advice on the many and varied sights to see, and villages to explore. Our major decision of the day was to choose where to lunch with the locals. The choice of delightful little cafes in the villages was endless. We especially enjoyed being able to have our own light meal in the evening in the terraced area near the pool. After all day spent exploring it was wonderful to relax at home with a glass or two of excellent French wine accompanied by the baguettes, cheeses, quiches, meats and salads purchased locally. If you are looking for a base in Provence, our advice would be stay with Thierry and Serge.

I stayed there in october, This is a awesome B & B not only because of the small details on it, but mainly because of attention of its host Thierry, because of him, we felt as we were at home and when we needed he gave us the necessary informations about the area.
The rooms was espacious with a nice bookshelf,wi fi, fireplace, air conditioned, and a charming decoration. the bathroom was well sized with bath.
the house have a nice provencal garden with a pool not so big, but ideal for hot days.
as its a house, it doesn't have lift, but logically Thierry helped us with the luggages, so it wasn't a problem for us.
The breakfast was included in the rate and it was served between 09:00 to 10:00 am, You can think it was strange this limited time, but there is a reason, Thierry prepared the fresh breakfast himself while the guests could share their experiences to the others( nice idea).
It consists in salad fruits,croissant, bread, homemade jam,butter, brownies and pie , juice and hot beverage (coffee, tea and chocolate), everything delicious.

The small village where the B & B is located, is near the many famous others villages in provence as Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, Menerbes, etc., so if you are by car, its really a calm place to stay.

Afterall, I have to say thanks to Thierry for this pleasant stay.

A very comfortable old property. Our room was on the top floor, up a spiral stone staircase and was spacious, and well decorated. Thierry and Serge run the place very professionally and are charming and helpful. There is a small swimming pool, an ideal place to relax with a beer from the honesty bar after a warm day's sightseeing and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed.

There are many restaurants of all in the area but the one opposite serves well cooked rather traditional food at reasonable prices and the service is informal and friendly.

My partner Clinton and I stayed with Serge and Thierry in April and had the most amazing time. I don't even know where to start. The breakfast was devine, made by Serge and Thierry each morning in a gorgeous kitchen. The surrounding area is beautiful and the restaurant across the road was really good as well and the woman was really friendly. Their white wine is great too. We had some 'car issues' and Theirry and Serge went out of their way to help us - they organised a scooter from a nearby town called Bonnieux and the lovely man came and picked us up and dropped us off. It was great to be able to visit the nearby villages with ease - Gordes and Fountain De Vaulcuse were a must see. Can't say enough positive things about Au Ralenti. Definitely hire a car or a scooter though to get around.
