Stayed here in August 2014 while visiting Berlin as part of a stag party.
Hotel is brilliant value for the price we paid. Basic, with 3-4 of us to a bunk bedded room but perfect for what we needed it for, which was really just somewhere to crash at night.
It’s located centrally just off Alexanderplatz, with excellent transport links to the rest of the city. There’s also a Munich Hofbrauhaus bar/restaurant right next door.
The hotel looks either new or recently refurbished, with clean modern looking rooms, flat screen TVs and small well equipped bathrooms. The shower in particular was excellent.
As I say there were 3-4 of us to a room, though the top two bunks beds can be folded into the wall to make the room just 2 single beds if needed. I found the beds to be comfortable though the pillows were a little too flat.
Continental breakfast was included in the room rate and this was decent quality and fairly extensive again considering the price that we paid for it all. No one checking you actually stay in the hotel or seating you when you go down though, and with the breakfast room just off reception there doesn't seem to be anything stopping someone from walking in straight off the street (as we did when returning early one morning) and getting themselves a free breakfast!
All in all one of the nicest ‘budget’ hotels I've stayed in for quite some time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place if visiting Berlin and all you’re looking for is somewhere to sleep on the cheap.
