“LT Rooms Perfect for Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We arrived on Dec. 25, Christmas Day, and the manager had reserved a parking spot for us right out front. We were able to leave our rental car there for the entire 3 days we were in Rome. The rooms are on the second floor, and there is an elevator to get luggage there. There is a do-it-yourself breakfast room - fridge, stove, sink, coffee maker, toaster - and you can pretty much get together an adequate breakfast there, as well as having a place to store any food you have with you.

On Christmas, the metros don't run, so we walked into the city, which was about a half hour. We passed Vatican City (also closed on Christmas) and proceeded in to cross one of the bridges over the Tiber. Rome was jammed with tourists, even on the holiday. This was a great way for us to get a sense of what we wanted to see the next day.

So, clean, great location, good value, friendly managers - a definite thumbs up!

“Average accommodation at average price but too out of the way”

Have just returned from a 4 day stay in Rome with my husband and stayed at the LT Rooms accommodation. We booked through late rooms at a cost of £280 for 3 nights which was a good price. We had arranged our arival time by email with the owner who had a rep there to meet us, even though it was near 11.00 p.m. She was very nice and friendly and showed us around the accommodation. It is an unusual B&B as the owner is not on site. The room is on the first floor in a residential block in Baglo Degli, a suburb 30 minutes walk from the vatican city. We had a nice clean room with ensuite shower room, which can be difficult to get in Rome without paying much more. We did have a noisy metal framed bed which again I would suggest the owners look to replace. The breakfast was in a kitchen (cheese, jam, toast, cereal, tea, coffee etc) which you helped yourself to and took back to your room. I would sugget that the owner consider varying the breakfast danish as they were stale and dry. There was also internet access, although we did not use it, but did see others using it. The room we stayed in was above a restautant which was noisy up until midnight but not too much of a problem. The downside of the stay was that the room was too far out of the way. We arived at Champino airport by easy jet. We booked on the plane the coach transfer return to Rome city centre which was only 6 Euros for us both. Don't book the transfer by Easy jet direct as we were quoted £86. When we arrived at the main terminal, we walked into Roma train station to access the metro. Rome has an A & B metro line. All jouneys are only 1 Euro which is very cheap. Baglo Degli is on the A line. Just keep following the A line signs and you need to get on the one going to Battista. Beglo is 3 stops from the end and takes about 25 minutes. The room is 3 minutes walk downhill from the metro station on the left on Via Moricca, next door to the restaurant. Some additional info for Rome itself. We booked the vatican city tour with Viator before travelling and paid about £90 as a couple for the skip the line 3 tour. The tour meets on the stairs opposite the vatican city entrance. You are supplied with earsets and the tour is in English. The group was around 20. We had a young woman called Alex who was excellent and so knowledgeable, and funny too. It was well worth skipping the three hour wait and the quality of the tour, all by memory was fantastic. The Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basillica were breathtaking. We also booked the Roma open hop on hop off bus tour with viator which included the tiber cruise. The bus was excellent value £42 for 48hrs for 2 people which lasted us from Sat afternoon to Monday afternoon. I would give the tiber cruise a miss as its not worth the reduced price of 10 euros as the tiber is green and you see just as much on the bus. We visited all the sites around Rome. The Colliseum and Roman Forum was brilliant. Cost about £12 each with the audio guid included. If you book ahead great, if you don't go early. We got there by metro for 9 am and only waited 15 minutes. The Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain are worth a visit too. I would advise travellers to think carefully about where to eat and drink as any restaurant with a view of anything up the prices accordingly. We paid 8 Euros for a pint of lager in a back street near the Colleseum. Overall though if I was staying again I would stay nearer the Stazionne as it is easier to travel around.

“Basic, clean, easy access to metro.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

Our room was very clean, as was the whole bed and breakfast. There was an error with the number of beds the first night, but that was corrected the next day. We slept with the windows open for 2 nights and there was quite a bit of noise coming in. We could hear thumping all night from the restaurant below. Having access to a computer was great. The breakfast was adequate, but definitely not exciting. The proximity of the metro stop was great and I felt that the staff responded to all of our requests promptly, but our overall experience was just average.

“Look no further for great accomodation in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

Just back from a fantastic trip to Rome. The Lt Rooms was a great place to stay, about 15mins walk to the Vatican, and only a few minutes to the nearest metro station. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and was very good value for money. We loved the fact that the little kitchen was open for us to use 24hrs per day (much cheaper than buying coffee whilst out and about in Rome) and we could help ourselves to the breakfast (basic cereal, pastry, juice, tea and coffee) when we felt like we were ready for it. Was a little surprised that some of the other guests couldn't bring themselves to wash up their own breakfast cups and bowls (hence blocking others use of the sink), but I guess some people refuse to do anything when they are on holiday!
The metro was very cheap to use (we got a three day travel card for bus/metro for 11euros) but do bring a good pair of walking shoes because most of the sights are actually a little walk away from the metro stops.
If you are on a budget, avoid eating and drinking in the centre (we were stung for 2 cappachinos outside the Pantheon, for 10euro!). Trastevere is a lovely place to eat out in (very authentic) as was the Jewish Ghetto quarter (for something a bit different). We also had a very nice meal in the restaurant downstairs from Lt rooms. A set menu (of numerous dishes, plus wine and soft drinks) for a fixed price of 35euro each. Food was excellent, but if we had known that we would be eating 4 or 5 courses and at least 10 antipasto dishes, we would have starved ourselves for at least two days before attempting to eat there!).
One more tip, if you stay at this hotel and are arriving at the Ciampino airport - walk out of departures, turn right and head for the little bus stop outside the security gates. You can get a bus for 1euro to Anagnina (end of metro line) bus station and then get the metro (A line) to Baldo Degli Baldi (takes about 50mins) for 1euro. Much cheaper than the shuttle buses to Termini from the airport, and you end up only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

“It is nice place near the metro and there is parking at the same building.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2009

Good : Nice, warm, clean room: it was everything in order in bathroom. Very wellcome and helpful stuff; metro and parking is very close to location.
Bad: if you have noisy neighbours, you will hear them.
