We stayed at the Hotel Caprice in September 2010. We were a little worried when we arrived and saw that the hotel was right next to the strip club, and then were more worried when we walked into the lobby and it reaked of smoke. The rooms, though very small and cramped, were newly renovated and were actually pretty comfortable. We only stayed one night and when we went to check out, the front desk staff person insisted we took items from the minibar. I assured him that we never touched the minibar and would gladly take him upstairs to show him that nothing had been consumed. He refused to go, but I went upstairs anyway to meet the housekeeper. We had only been out of the room five minutes and the whole room was already completely stripped. The housekeeper was holding an empty box of peanuts and a water bottle and was insisting we ate them. I ended up fighting with the front desk for the next fifteen minutes until he agreed not to charge us. The next day, when our friends staying in another room checked out, the staff did the exact same thing to them! I would not recommend this hotel - you don't need this kind of aggravation on vacation!
