“Good Sized Rooms for Four”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

We were travelling through Europe and our point of entry was Rome. We checked into Pinewood after a long flight from Australia. A family with teenage children we booked into a quadruple room which was clean with excellent bathroom. However room service was minimal. With hungry teenage children we found that difficult. We finally walked about 10 minutes near Cornelia to eat each day.
The train station is a ten minute walk, which when you have been walking all day seems a trek, especially on long days .. on hindsight will choose to stay close to Rome Termini next trip...

Room Tip: Stay closer to Trevi Fountain to enjoy the evenings and night life in Rome

Nice and clean Hotel outside from city centre and makes it less noisy from traffic congestion. Well connected by buses and from Cornelia Metro station to city center.
Hotel is two bus stops away from Cornelia Station, in Cornelia square ones a lot of shops of all kinds. we sure we will be back again.

Thank You

Room Tip: No mini bar in room, and no warm food in breakfast

“Very Rude Lobby Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

First let me just say we were so mis-led. We spoke to the hotel and read the reviews to see how it was and what the rooms were like. We needed a suite to hold 5 people. They said their suites were large and would be comfortable. My closet was bigger than this so called suite. A suite must have a different meaning in Rome than in the USA. The sad part here was that we were tripping all over our luggage and could not even open it up for lack of space.
We also asked that there be a refrigerator hooked up and cool by the time we got there for medical reasons. There was no fridge. Not only did it take them a while to get one but it never even got cool the three days we were there. The lobby staff was very rude. I waited at the counter for 10 minutes while 2 employees argued with one another to ask for a fridge. I ended up leaving and just calling down. They answered the phone in the lobby they just did not acknowledge a real person standing in front of them. What gives? The man with the black hair and facial hair was the rudest!
On our last day at this hotel, going off to our cruise, my husband went to check out with him, my husband said we were checking out, he nodded. We waited in the lobby for about an hour with all our luggage by us. More space there than in the room. When the limo arrived we went outside to pack up and leave. As our bags were being loaded he comes running out and said we had not checked out and that there were additional charges. The extra charges were the tax. Clearly not a very observant person. I wish I saw his name tag.
The one saving grace here was the continental breakfasts. Those were decent and offered a variety of food items. For the record, I would not go back. The beds were hard as a rock and the linens looked as old as the Colosseum.

“DO NOT RECOMMEND - horrible, false advertisement”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

Arrived at the so called "4-Star" hotel but it was more like a 1 star hotel. When we got there found out our rooms were on the 5th and 6th floor, the lift which takes you up hardly holds more than 2 people, very small tight space. We had booked 2 rooms, the rooms were very small, hardly any walking space. The sofa beds for the third person had such thin mattresses and throughout the night the metal bars could be felt, it was very uncomfortable, the carpet hadn't been hoovered, the side tables by the bed were covered in dust. The tv was so small and only had a few Italian channels on it. But the worst was the bathroom, the shower was so small, hardly one child could fit in there, forget an adult showering in it, once you were in there was no way of moving about, felt trapped in it. In one room the bathroom ceiling was coming down in 2 places and one of the spotlights were hanging down. In one of the rooms there was a painting which was wet and covered in fungus underneath the glass cover. When I went down to complain the night we got there, there was no staff there who understood English, I was very rudely asked to come back when the manager was in the next morning. We had no option but to stay that night, it was after midnight and we had 4 more nights booked there. In the morning I spoke to manager and very unhelpfully said that sorry we cant help, no other rooms are available. I then showed the photos of the rooms and bathrooms up on the hotels website and said this is what i wanted as this is what is shown, and he said that sorry that is only the first floor rooms that are like that because have been refurbished, but the rest haven't been. HOWEVER on the website it says all the 80 rooms have been refurbished!!!!! Then we had no option but to leave that morning and book elsewhere into a proper 4 star hotel, which was a proper hotel. This wasted the first day of our holiday. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.
