A group of four, we stayed here while exploring Trieste after driving up from Croatia. After the hair-raising drive to the hotel (caused by the narrow streets and flamboyant Italian driving style) we entered the hotel across the street that runs the apartments and checked in easily with the English-speaking concierge, though the counterman was a bit gruff. The concierge escorted us to the residence and let us in, giving us tips about the area on the way.
Upon entering we were struck by the size of the apartment; more than adequate for four of us. Clean and simply decorated with everything in working order, except the microwave but a quick call to reception sorted that out. The second bed was a fold out sofa bed and would have been fine for me as a young man but was a little uncomfortable for our two slightly older travel companions. Aside from this the apartment was functional and exceptional value for the price we paid amongst our group.
The location is also good though it should be noted it is not near the popular waterfront area if walking by foot, though a short taxi or bus ride will get you there quickly. It's situated right near a charming square upon which sits a gorgeous church. Late into the evening the area was alive with people enjoying a meal, eating gelato or having a glass of wine and chatting. Absolutely picturesque and very nice to have so close to the apartment after a long day's walking.
Breakfast was very good and I was able to indulge my love of coconut yoghurt repeatedly. One thing to note; the hotel has it's own parking under the building but if you don't know where it is just save yourself the trouble and park in the underground public carpark whose entrance is just near the church. It was relatively cheap and is fully secure.
I have nothing bad to say about the Residence San Giusto, it made our stay in Trieste very comfortable.
