The B&B was a very good base for our stay in Venice. It's located on a nice street in a quiet neighborhood in Santa Croce away from all of the hubbub but still within easy walking distance of most sights, as well as some fun restaurants and lovely campi. The Grand Canal and some pretty views along it from a small dock next to the Fondaco dei Turchi is about 100 feet away.
We stayed in a double superior room on the third level of the building. The climb up the stairs wasn't an issue for us, but people who have difficulty with stairs might want to reserve a room on a lower level.
The room itself was spacious and generally in good shape but not quite as plush as we had expected. That said, nice features (aside from the spaciousness) included a beamed ceiling, a skylight, an extra twin bed, and a small sitting area. The bathroom was adequate but relatively small.
Breakfast was very good -- a full buffet of breads, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, juices, etc. -- and was served in a very nice and quiet room overlooking a small side canal. Service there (for fresh brewed coffee or tea) was very attentive.
We made good use of the B&B's library -- the owners let us borrow a guidebook for our walks around town. Also, the owners themselves were very helpful and drew very clear walking routes on the complimentary (and very handy) pocket-sized city maps given to all guests.
If you're willing to stay in this quiet part of Santa Croce, not in the middle of everything but within easy walking distance of many restaurants, lovely campi, churches, and other sights, then we'd suggest you give Ca San Giorgio a try.
