if you wish to get a sense of the art, aesthetic and sensibility of noble Florence, go no further.
Some of the actual original priceless antiques are in the suites. From the historic frescoes on the ceiling, original mouldings on the walls, paintings, to the carpets on the floor, i literally felt i should 'dress' before entering the Salon. i wish to thank the Princessa for sharing this historic palazzo. the other comments are quite correct concerning the amenities.

we are privileged to have visited Firenze many times. from the Four Seasons to renting an apartment for a month when our son was studying there. My only lament was the traffic noise and pollution (not the Four Seasons) in town. Not so PNaD. as stated on their website, with traffic closed around the Duomo, this perfectly located palazzo is dream like quiet. drink in the experience of a lifetime...

Room tip: we are all minding our budgets but with the USD/Euro exchange; Italy is on sale. Do make an effort to go for the suites. one of the greatest 'values' i can think.

We stayed here on our honeymoon in the largest suite.
The Palazzo is quiet, clean, spacious and tranquil. It is owned and run by the noble Niccolini family. We were recommended the hotel by an Italian friend who lives in Rome and knows the family.
The staff is incredibly helpful with everything including museums, restaurant reservations and car and driver hire. We arrived home without some linen hand towels we had purchased at a shop, and Francesca was kind enough to contact the store for us so that they could be sent to our NYC address.
The location is perfect, the center of Florence.
We had such a lovely time.
Breakfast is served in the salon as are self-serve drinks at cocktail hour.
Our room had beautiful antiques and linens. The bathroom was huge and had a great soaking tub. The ceilings in our room were at least 20 feet tall with a gorgeous fresco on the ceiling.
We will be back!!

Room tip: Get a room overlooking the Duomo. The front desk closes at 9PM. It is like staying in someone's home, albeit a very GRAND one.

This is not just a hotel that could be in any European city, but the home of an old Florentine family that gives the visitor a glimpse of the elegant life that exists in this wonderful city. We stayed in the Empire Suite during Florence's Pitti Uomo (men's fashion week). The palazzo is directly across from Al Duomo and our windows looked out to the dome of the church. Our room was very large - perhaps 25 feet square, with a large bathroom and separate entry and dressing area. Frescos on the ceiling and period furniture in the room. All was as we expected as in the photograph, and in addition the staff was wonderful, warm and accommodating. They seemed truly interested in helping us plan our visit to their wonderful city of which they are justifiably proud. Our visit to Florence (mid-January) was a perfect time as the museums and churches were quiet but the town was lively with the fashion community. Restaurants were heavily booked; nonetheless Senora Niccolini was extremely helpful in obtaining reservations for us at places that she knew well and were wonderful. We had a car, and Sr. Niccolini helped us navigate the streets to get to the hotel courtyard. Breakfast each morning in the elegant salon was of the highest quality. We look forward to our return to this special place.

We stayed at this hotel in January 2014 and I would go there every time I went to Florence. The room we stayed in was huge (a massive ornate double and another single for our daughter). The walls were covered in frescoes, the bathroom was lovely and the view out the window was the Duomo less than 100 ms away. The staff were unfailingly helpful. Breakfast was served in a Grand salon and I even went and tracked down the room fragrances they used which were divine. This isnt just a lovely room - this was an experience!

Palazzo Niccolini is a palace (it is). We stayed in suite with frescos and I think it was the best accommodation we ever had. Originally I did not look at the place because of the prices, but we traveled in late November and that made prices reasonable. Defiantly go for it if you can afford, it worth every penny.

Room tip: We took a short tour to check other suites, our room with frescos was the best.
