This was my second stay at the Pulitzer and I have to say that I would gladly stay there again. The location is terrific, rooms spotless and service impeccable. We selected a deluxe room and had the great luck to enjoy our canal view room while the canals were still frozen so we were able to enjoy the view of people skating, sledding, walking and partying on the canal. Each person at the hotel with whom we came in contact was friendly and no request was too great. The rooms are nicely appointed with lush bedding and a luxury bath. It's walking distance to any attraction in the city center and a half-block walk to a convenient tram stop. This is our hotel of choice in Amsterdam.

Hotel with great service but more importantly, it lies in the middle of Amsterdam and they have been able to keep the architecture in place. Multiple canal houses are all linked together where the guest rooms are. Stepping out of the hotel, you are on the canal in close proximity of many of Amsterdam's hot spots.

We stayed 5 nights at the Putlitzer and it certainly lived up to SPG standards. The hotel has an interesting lay out, a bunch of row houses that are joined together. Our room was large and comfortable, and we also enjoyed the gym and the bar during our stay. The breakfast is worthwhile, particularly if you are receiving it complimentary with your stay (true for SPG elite). Don't know if I'd have been willing to pay for it.

One note is to AVOID the room service! Our room service was inedible. I got a chicken sandwich where the chicken was cooked so long that it was hard. If I had encountered it on the street, out of context, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell you that it was a chicken breast. Really a waste of money. But other than that our stay was great!

We have stayed at the Pulitzer in Amsterdam on 4 separate occasions and it's the perfect hotel in a perfect location- better than the Dylan where we have also stayed. The hotel is made up of about 20 town houses all linked together which gives it lots of character. The downside is that rooms are generally quite small with limited wardrobe space. We go for room size rather than canal view. The bar is very atmospheric and buzzy and the restaurant is good too. But there are several good restaurants within 400 yards plus a mix of cafes, boutiques and quirky one off shops. Service is friendly and efficient. The hotel has their own vintage canal boat which is def worth a trip- usually goes about 5pm. Courtyard garden is the perfect spot for lunch.
