Lovely comfortable hotel, friendly staff. good quality beds and bed linen towels etc.

The only downside is the noise from the trains, however I think if you had a forward facing room you may not have this.

My shower door did not close, I reported this to reception who said they would send someone up, after 25 minutes no one had arrived so I had to have a quick wash and leave as I had arrangements to go out.. I was surprised when the following morning I found it had not been fixed. I telephoned reception again and told them I was very disappointed, they sent someone immediately who was able to fix it, he could not apologize enough. Later that day they sent up some water and fruit as a an apology.

The bar at the top of this hotel offers great views of the city.

We ate in the restaurant one night the food was okay but not a great deal of choice and portions quite small.

The Amsterdam Mint has recently been converted to The Doubletree Amsterdam. The problem with the DT brand in the Hilton portfolio is that you never know what to expect. It´s one of the most inconsistent hotel chains ranging from fabulous to dreadful. Luckily DT Amsterdam falls in the better category. The hotel is a three minute walk from the airport shuttle train and has a wonderful view overlooking the city. Breakfast is above DT general standard and the bar on the 11th floor is absolutely worth a visit. Since it´s recently converted not all the features, don´t worry they have the cookies, might be available yet and some MINT features like the cool Mac computer in the room is still there. I would stay again and will highly recommend the hotel.

Nice new hotel right beside Amsterdam Centraal Station, no need to drag your suitcase a long way if traveling in and out by train. if you want peace and quiet in the night this is the place for you. Room is clean and bright! The staff are friendly and willing to help. Of course...love the warm choc chip cookie!

We found the Doubletree to be a very nice, modern hotel and a great place to stay while burning off the jetlag for a couple of days.Although we were hoping for some immediate European charm which can only be had at old established properties this hotel welcomed us to Europe in such a way as to spoil us (almost)for the rest of the trip.The rooms were brand new with a Mac computer and free internet.The bed was great and we had an awesome view of the city over the water.When we arrived we were offered two huge freshly baked chocolate chip cookies which was strange but welcome.Sherry hit the sheets right away and I went to check out the sights in my overly ambitious way and stumbled upon the red light district immediately as it is just a hop skip and a jump away.That was an eye opener!!I scurried back to our room and lo and behold my precious was sound asleep in bed.We ventured out and everything was close at hand to see ,so a very convenient location indeed.The breakfast buffet was a huge surprise as it was probably the best one we indulged in on our three week tour.We would recommend this clean well appointed hotel to anyone wanting a modern oasis in a great fun city!!
