A short balanced review to counter/support points raised by others.
A nice hotel situated in a small cobbled street (not an alley).
Location away from main centre gives access to free street parking a short walk away. It is public street parking so not affiliated with this hotel and so if you find a better hotel in vicinity, it is just as available to use.
The walk into historic centre is short and pleasant (not a tedious hike) You are soon amongst historic buildings, shops and cafes- which is presumeably what you're there for!
Had room on top floor so stairs to climb but quieter than close to reception as ground floor room doors are within 2m of reception desk! Room (22) was big, bright, simple and clean but minus minibar (if you choose to drink in room rather than a lovely cafe!) It was lovely and hot weather but meant that with no air/con had windows open which meant noise from cobbles below.
Owner's child was around reception most of the time but not a problem.
Breakfast distinctly limited and cheap - very little fruit, no pastries, hollow rolls, processed ham/spam, long life packaged cake/biscuits - shame as coffee was good and a little dent in the profit margin by supplying good stuff would make a big diference.
A simple to get to, well located (parking v walk to centre), clean but underwhelming hotel which would be good value if you got it at cheaper-to-book-direct rates displayed. Ideal if you just want a base to enjoy beautiful Brugge.
