Stayed here in October for 7 nights. We chose a sea view room located on the 4th Floor. Many of the rooms have sea views and even if you are located at Pool level you will still have a good view of the cliffs and possibly the sea. Room was better than I expected. Slightly dated bathroom, but I really liked the space in the room, combined with a large balcony, I had no complaints.
The package we booked was bed and breakfast. In the morning you chose your table, and if you are down early enough you can get a table outside. The food at breakfast was pretty average, its a buffet that gets topped up. The one big gripe at breakfast was the toaster - everyone complains about this. You need to put your bread in at least 4 times to get it brown - this can take 8 - 10 minutes, but when its busy you will need to wait 10 mins to get to put your bread on. I can't undertand why the hotel did not replace it with a couple of modern versions.
We ate dinner the first night in the hotel - like the breakfast it was a buffet. There were various hot dishes which sit out in the heated tureens. The fish dishes were all dried out - the chips were soggy, so I waited for fresh chips...and they were soggy also. If you are hungary or you just like to be able to help yourself then its for you. I prefer freshlly prepared food and there are plenty of good restaurants in town to chose from - and much cheaper than the set buffet price at the hotel.
The hotel was spotless and I really liked the building and layout, The swimming pool and grass area were first class - always plenty of loungers. There are steps down to the beach and it was really good to swim there. But please note it can be quite rough and not advisable to swim here when the waves are crashing in.
In summary I would certainly recommend the Tivoli. Location, the rooms, the staff, the cleanliness and the garden areas are really nice. If they would only offer an a la carte in the evening with some freshly prepared and presented food then I would have dined there more often.
BTW My favourite dining place in town was Onze - we ate there twice, very good.
