Business trip March'14.
Location is great, not in the tourist area (Karl Johan gt), but where people live.
Close to the food market and Grunerlokka.
Clean, fresh rooms. Nice food. Restaurant in several small areas, you avoid the canteens feeling!
Polite staff.

We had a great stay here from Saturday to Monday now in July. Wih a special summerprice including breakfast and free parking.
Great location next to the foodhall in Oslo with late opening of the bars and restaurants. 20 minutes walk to Karl Johan approx. So not bad at all located.
The room we had was on the same floor as the front desk, small but with a taaaaal roof hight, very nice and decorative, got what you need. Big positive suprice that the room had an iron and board :-)
What we was missing was a place to leave the suitecase/cary on bag because there was not to much to hang the clothes away on/in. So a rack on the floor/folding rack or something could be good around the TV area. And the lamp over the bed should be lifted 1 meter up, we felt it was "hitting" us in the head......
Super breakfast, felt sorry for the poor guy that was working on a Sunday, he did his very best but was alone..... Not good management in this case with plenty of guests eating at the same time. Besides, on a Sunday it should start later and last to 11 am at least.
Very frindly staff and service minded, and was so great with us cause we had our little dog along on the trip.

Room tip: Ask for room towards the foodcourt /mathallen.

We stayed at the Vulkan June 20-22. Elias took very good care of us, from check in to check out. We had a little problem with our first room (plugged shower drain) so he immediately upgraded us to room with an amazing view and huge windows. The Vulkan is next to a food lovers dream - the Mathallen Oslo. Lots of yummy restaurants and food items. Hotel is very clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to downtown, Aker Brygge, and parks. Highly recommend this gem. And again, a huge thank you to Elias!

We upgraded to a superior room and the view was fantastic. They have floor to ceiling windows all around the room.

Perfect location- there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by and it is about a 20 minute walk from the bus/train station.
