Finding budget accommodation for a family of 5 can be a challenge and staying with Travelodge with three kids requires two rooms, or so we thought, until a chance conversation revealed they will allow more than two children per room if the third doesn't mind sleeping on the floor.
The brand is consistent in their standards - generally clean with basic supplies such as soap and towels, tea, coffee and milk. Family rooms have a comfortable double and a sofa bed with a second pull-out bed. Space is adequate, heating is adjustable and staff will provide additonal pillows and bedding on request. Breakfast isn't included, but as other reviewers have said previously there are pubs and supermarket cafeterias close by. Whilst in Barrow we visited the Maritime Museum, the park and Furness Abbey. It's also handy for South Lakeland.
