“Budget accommodation for a family of 5”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Finding budget accommodation for a family of 5 can be a challenge and staying with Travelodge with three kids requires two rooms, or so we thought, until a chance conversation revealed they will allow more than two children per room if the third doesn't mind sleeping on the floor.
The brand is consistent in their standards - generally clean with basic supplies such as soap and towels, tea, coffee and milk. Family rooms have a comfortable double and a sofa bed with a second pull-out bed. Space is adequate, heating is adjustable and staff will provide additonal pillows and bedding on request. Breakfast isn't included, but as other reviewers have said previously there are pubs and supermarket cafeterias close by. Whilst in Barrow we visited the Maritime Museum, the park and Furness Abbey. It's also handy for South Lakeland.

“ARE THERE TWO DIFFERENT HOTELS?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We stayed at this travellodge for two nights over the New Year. The staff were friendly very helpful. The description tells you that the hotel is located in an Industrial Estate so no one should be shocked by this!
the room was clean, warm and the water hot, just what you want from a budget hotel.
The only complaint if I have to have one is that the cleaning trolley was in the corridor throughout our stay. also there was a stink of dog but that was down to the people who had a dog in their room opposite our room. Not travel lodge fault

We booked two rooms and both were ok.
The Travel Lodge has been refurbished and yes there is little storage space, but there are hangers, etc.
Our room was cleaned efficiently on both days.
I wander if there are actually two hotels as I had read the reviews before going and was a little worried, but the bad reviews I feel are not founded.
If you want a luxury hotel then pay the money and go there fi you want clean warm and friendly book here.
We had breakfast at Asda it was disgusting
We would recommend the Ferry pub where we had a fab carvery for only £3.89 each they also serve breakfast.

“Complaint”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I am a hotel maintenance manager and believe me I have seen some bad hotels but this one beats them all hands down. The bathroom had cobwebs and the mattress on the bed reminded me of one of those you used to see that had been burned on bonfire night and just the springs were remaining. The room was cold and the hot water at the wash basin was far too hot. Oh yes, and the paint was flacking of off the walls

Room Tip: Don't bother I doubt if there is one

“Not a traveller friendly Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stayed at the travelodge in Barrow recently, and was very disappointed with the whole place. The room was cold, very little wardrobe space with only 2 coat hangers disgraceful! A good sized bed but very little bedding, no bath either. Set in the middle of nowhere with only a pizza parlour, Asda or similar to eat and drink. No wonder they have to offer discounted room prices for this hotel.

Room Tip: find another Hotel
