Zen Room & Breakfast has everything you can expect from a B&B: comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, kindness, impeccable service, convenient location, fair price.
We stayed in a comfortable, spacious room, furnished in an essential but functional way, in perfect "Zen" style. The bathroom was huge, abundantly supplied and also pretty with its black and white checked tiles. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were perfectly clean.
As for hospitality, it was simply perfect. First thing, we were given maps, tourist leaflets and a ticket that allowed us to park our car for free just a few steps away, right in the town centre. The height of hospitality, though, was the free mini-bar in our room! Besides, there was a rich buffet breakfast, with plenty of cakes, pastries, cereals, ham, cheese, coffee, fruit juices. Vanessa, the manager, was so kind as to leave our room at our disposal even for the afternoon after we checked out.
Zen's location is excellent too, at no more than 100 metres from the castle and some 200 from the cathedral. Yet, the only inconvenience of our stay had something to do with the location: it was Saturday night and, quite unbelievably, a bar or a club just under our room was allowed to play loud music till late at night without being soundproof at all. I don't know if it happens on a regular basis, or only on Saturday nights, or just once in a while and we were particularly unlucky. Anyway, I think the bar or club is to blame for that, not Zen, which then still deserves my five-bullet overall rate. I'm just going to give a poor rate for the sleep quality.
As for the price, it's absolutely fair compared with the quality.
What a pity we could stay only one night.

Stayed for one night in the beautiful town of Ferrara. Superb location right in the centre of Ferrara and we were able to park our car in a street close by for only 3 Euros for 24 hours. Room was modern and clean, bathroom was huge! Free wi-fi in the breakfast room. Girl on the desk was really friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was super with local fresh pastries and coffee and even free soft drinks in the mini-bar in our room!
The one thing that has stopped me giving this 5 stars is that someone had been smoking in the breakfast room which made everything smell but this could have been just a one off thing and don't let it put you off!

Oh and there's a fab chocolate shop just on the Palazzo that sells 70% choc gelato and divine chocolates that you must try!
