“Large rooms close to downtown Sarlat.”

Clos La Boetie is a small Hotel located in a quiet area, 10-15 minute walk to the center of busy Sarlat la Caneda. We stayed in a big wonderful room with a King bed and a modern bathroom with 2 sinks. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi and separate shower room. Hair dryer, fluffy towels, bath robes, slippers and a wide array of toiletries. Free WiFi. Parking is a challenge in Sarlat, we were lucky to find parking next to the hotel. Sharing the pool with another hotel is a problem when hotel is full, not enough lounges or seats to relax in the garden. Wonderful service, my thanks to Cecile for securing reservations for us to visit Lascaux Caves. Sarlat has many places to eat, lost of foei grass stores and is a good base to visit all the grottos and museums of the area.

“Lovely hotel in a good location”

Lovely rooms, whirlpool bath, jet shower and lots of lovely toiletries. The pool was nice and there were some good seating areas outside. The staff were quite helpful, but I felt that the breakfast and drinks were really expensive. I would recommend getting breakfast in the town! Central Sarlat was only a short walk away. Not a lot of parking - we were lucky to get a space outside, but it wasn't very busy when we were there.
I would recommend staying there if you go to Sarlat.

“Amazing - beautiful little hotel”

What an amazing place - we loved it! From the moment we turned up early and were told we could check in everything was perfect. Met by a very friendly smiling receptionist we were shown to our room. We had booked one of the two prestige rooms with Terrace, there are two styles - contemporary or traditional. We had been given contemporary (as it has a slightly better terrace - away from the road and a bit more secluded). However I had seen the traditional room on the website and asked if this was available, we were shown this room which was amazing, and were promptly moved there - nothing was too much trouble. Both rooms were stunning, just depends what you prefer.
Gorgeous room, one of the most comfortable beds ever, amazing bathroom, great breakfast served on the terrace - and efficient friendly service - perfection. OK, so you may have to pay 10 Euro for private off-street parking, but that's no big deal surely!

“Pleasant surprise in Sarlat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2010

I have to say that we chose this hotel in Sarlat because we could not find anywhere else suitable in the areas in the nights in question. The Tripadvisor reviews were a bit ho-hum and we were a bit hesitant about booking. We need not have been. It was a perfect place to stay.

We took the last rooms available which were a couple of suites which, at E300, were well worth the money. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff provided good advice on restaurants. There is a private carpark close to the hotel. Breakfast could be better – the croissants were not what you would expect in France, there was no sliced fruit, and the breakfast room was cramped. That was really our only criticism.

The hotel is not in the charming old part of Sarlat, but is within 5 mins walk of it. Don’t be put off by this.

I should also say that Sarlat is an excellent base to tour the major sights of the western Dordogne and the Perigord: everything is so close.

“lovely boutique hotel”

We stayed there for five nights. This charming small hotel is within walking distance of the old town with all its restaurants and sights. Sarlat is a truly magificently restored medieval town, however its restaurants serve foie gras and duck, duck and duck, to the exclusion of much else. The hotel is beautifully finished with first class attentive staff. We would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone going to Sarlat. By the way, ignore the previous whinings about price.... good hotels cost, and this one really is good. Also guests with cars should take the parking option at $10 per day. It is close by and it is a bargain.
