“Classy hotel and friendly hotel staff made spa and golf mountain retreat one worth repeating!”

Classy hotel and friendly hotel staff made spa and golf mountain retreat one worth repeating!

My partner and I came to the Grand Hotel du Golf & Palace for an extended weekend in August 2010. We stayed four days in this relaxing sanctuary where we were nothing but pampered by the amazingly friendly staff from the hotel. While my partner played golf on one of the most scenic golf courses in the world (literally in the hotel's back yard), I spent my time getting some of the best spa treatments I've ever experienced. I really appreciated having afternoon drinks on the terrace of the hotel overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery and golf course.

I would definitely recommend eating Lebanese cuisine at the hotel. I loved all of the food that the hotel offered, but the Lebanese mezzes were definitely our favorite. After an afternoon of hiking, I snacked on an amazing crepe in the lobby.

The proximity to the town is also a huge plus! I've never seen a golf and spa hotel so close to the town center! The shopping in Crans-Montana is definitely something to be reckoned with--I had to buy an extra suitcase to fit all of my newly purchased outfits!

All-in-all...when can I go back?!?!?!

“What a perfect holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

For our skiing holiday, my gilrfriend and I decieded to go to Crans-Montana.
After checking on the net and asking friends who already went to Crans-Montana we chose the Grand Hotel du Golf Palace.
We had a great stay and could enjoy not only skiing, but great walks and most important a lot of sun. All the locals always say that it is very very sunny. It's not a pitch but only the truth.
The hotel is perfectly situated (on the golf course), walking distance to everything in town.
The bar is very cozy and charmging, and the restaurants are very nice. We enjoyed to be able to stay in the hotel and have a large choice of food. There is a lebanese restaurant, an asian restaurant and the main restaurant with an italian orientated menu. We of course also has dinner in the village, which gives a large variety of restaurants.
Our room was very spacious, we had a very nice balcony with a view on the Alps. For me, as I live in London since 9 years, there is nothing better than waking up facing the blue sky and the white Alps.London
Added to this I could do my regular work out at the fitness and enjoy their smimming pool and great spa. I had one of the best Shiatsu ever.

We really had a great time and are looking forward to going back.

“The perfect Christmas !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

I have spent 2 weeks in Grand Hotel du Golf for Christmas with my two year old girl and my husband.
It was just the perfect vacation !
After skiing all day it was really relaxing swimming in the wonderful swimming pool.
You have to go to the SPA, this is one of the best I've tried.

Then it was nice to go to the lounge bar to have a cocktail listening live music. The ambiance is really cosy. You feel really good especially at Christmas time!
The decorations are beautiful in the hotel.
Thanks to the Chef for all the meals so tasty he cooked, especially For Christmas eve it was a really feast for senses.

Our room was really clean and comfortable, the view was amazing.

Everyone there was very helpful and provide a really good service.
They like children and I appreciate that.
This is why I have used the baby sitting service with complete confidence to go for dinner in Le Chalet restaurant (the Raclette there is gorgeous! )

I really hope I can come back in Summer, a friend of mine told me it even more beautiful.

“Unforgettable stay in Crans-Montana”

We have spent our Christmas Holidays in Grand Hotel du Golf and Palace, since the arrival it was a dream... the driver picked us at the airport with a brand new 750 BMW, he offered us water, fresh juices and small sandwiches, and then we left to wonderful Crans Montana.
I' ve never seen before such a nice Christmas decoration, my children loved specially the white bears at the main entrance. In this magic atmosphere, on 24th of december we enjoyed the Father Christmas and all his gifts to the children, the Gospel for Peace group during the gourmet dinner.
The Concierge organized a lot of activities for the children, the ski instructor, the skating, the dogs sledge in front of the hotel, they were amazed!
We had a large choise of restaurants in the hotel, the Baalbeck lebanese ( the chef Khalil is great!), the Shangri-La Chinese and the main Italian and international Le Relais. The service was perfect and all the staff was very attentive with all our needs and very friendly with the children.
The New's Year Eve we celebrated with the orchestra Gipsy Fiesta, a very festive and chic party in the hotel, later we joined some friends to the most famous disco in Crans, called Pacha, this place has not to be missed.
Our suite was very well decorated, panoramic sunny view, large Tv screen, incredible mattress, nice linen.
We began the New Year in the beautiful hotel Spa, I have tried the Valmont collagene mask for the face the new Carita treatment for hair and my husband enjoyed relaxing massage and both of us were really satisfied.
Our feeling is very positive and we already booked for summer season to enjoy the wonderful golf course, located just in front of the hotel. I can recommend this Hotel to everybody who wants to discover more than an hotel.

“This Anti-American Place was a RIP-OFF!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

If you want to pay an exorbitant amount for very poor service, staff that treat you like garbage and owners who couldn't care less about anything other than taking your money, this is your place!!

There were several things very wrong with this place that has already been mentioned in other reviews. But the worst for me was the treatment by the hotel staff and the non-responsive owners. Not only didn't they give you sufficient towels (a very basic thing in any 1 star hotel), they had the gall to accuse me of stealing towels...when I was paying $650 chf per night. At that rate, I don't need to steal their towels!!

Anytime I asked for help or information, one or more of the condescending imbeciles at the desk would patronize me because I didn't speak their language (whichever language that was). They wouldn't even try to communicate with me even tho I tried speaking French to them. Believe me, if any decent hotel nearby was not sold out, I would have left this one quickly (but I guess they would have charged me for the entire stay anyway per their rules)!

In an email they sent to me beforehand, they mentioned that they had a complimentary car/shuttle to the casino 5 minutes away. But when I called to confirm that, I was tersely reminded that it would cost 20chf each way!!

The best one yet was when an unannounced man tried to enter my room in order to show it to a family (I guess to try to sell it to them). When I called him on it, he gave me an obligatory ('I'm sorry") but really could not have cared less about entering my room with other people while my personal possessions were lying around. I realize maids can gain entrance any time, but I didn't even know if this guy was ligitimate.

Be very careful in this hotel especially if you're American. The staff, which seeemd French, Italian, Spanish or Croatian, seemed to treat other guests (Europeans) a whole lot better. They didn't mind taking American money, but did mind helping me.

And, when I wrote to the owner to explain the poor treatment, he merely replied in an arrogant manner and offered me a credit ..."on my next stay at the hotel"!!! Even if hell froze over, and they gave me everything for free, I wouldn't go back there.

If you're a golfer, beware of their mis-leading advertising. I thought from their site that they were directly connected to the Ballesteros course; they are not. And if you rent clubs as I did, after paying almost 300chf for green fees, clubs, and riding cart, they gave me a set of clubs and bag that looked like they took it out of the garbage. I wasn't expecting gold-plated clubs and bag, but what they gave me I wouldn't give to an enemy!

If you're American, be very careful. If not...perhaps they wont treat you well either!!
