We paid an extraordinarily low price for what was basically an apartment: two bedrooms, large lounge, bathroom, separate toilet and kitchen. We didn't really have a chance to use the kitchen as we were with friends but the price was amazing. The furnishings were basic but fine. The location of the hotel was an easy 15-20 minute walk from the Rathaus in the centre of Gmunden, which is a charming little village on the Traunsee. The breakfast was typical continental but of good quality, with yoghurt, boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, a delicious selection of breads, cereals and juices. The staff were very welcoming and we would definitely return. One thing that was slightly surprising is that you can still smoke inside buildings in Austria...
