Our family went to a wedding reception and booked three double rooms and one family room all were clean ,bathrom had shower and there was plenty of hot water.Only complaint we had was the bed in our room could have been more comfortable.The staff could not have been more helpful.The food was excellent.

Along with three friends I booked into the Crown in the village of Mundford as we were going to a gig in Thetford forest. The accommodation to the rear of the hotel is spotlessly clean, well furnished with high quality ensuite bathrooms, soft white towels and ample tea, coffee and milk - and with a single room at £43.50 offers good value for money.

The Jane made us feel very welcome and her staff were also friendly and approachable. The bar offered a good range of beers and food was also reasonable value. The breakfast was superb with the usual array of cereals but the wholemeal bread/toast was a tasty rustic type with various nuts within and the full breakfast (which my friends had) contained quality bacon & saugages.

Additionally Jane provided us with transport to the gig (both there and back) at a cost of £7.50 each which considering it was about 6 or 7 miles away was again very good value.

If you are looking for a friendly village pub/hotel with good value accommodation in the Thetford area then I highly recommend The Crown. Thank you Jane.

Having read 2 reviews from 2007, were a bit apprehensive but was recommended to us by the bride of the wedding we were to attend. However, due to ongoing refurbishment all 8 of our party were given very comfortable, clean and bright accommodation. The breakfass were superb and having eating twice in the restaurant can thoroughly recommend the food. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed here as it was the only 'hotel' near the wedding venue of Lynford Hall. How they get away with calling it a hotel I do not know. The room was small, the bed was not full sized and kept us awake all night as I am sure there were only springs in the matress!. The shower had no holder so you had to hold this whilst showering, thats if you were brave enough to try as there was no hot water. The bulk of the rooms are not in the pub itslef, but down the road. I can vouch for what was said in the prevoius review regarding this building - it was dated, smelt of cats urine and was obviusly only there to rip off wedding guests. Breakfast took over an hour and the owner was verging on rude when we complained. DO NOT STAY HERE IF IT CAN BE AVOIDED - at £70 it was a complete rip off!
