My wife and I stayed here for two nights across a weekend. We had a Deluxe Room on the 42nd Floor.
The Hilton is in a great central city location next to the QVB and near the Pitt Street Mall. This puts it in easy walking distance of Darling Harbour, the main shopping strip, China Town, the Art Gallery of NSW etc.
It is the first time I have stayed here for many years and the first time since the Hotel was refurbished.
Service was very good throughout our stay - we did not put many demands on it but everyone we encountered was professional, smiling and helpful.
The Hotel decor is smart and sophisticated throughout.
Our room felt a little on the small side for a double with king size bed but this was partly attributable to the way the desk stands out into the room. The decor in the room was modern and smart throughout with almost all functions controllable from the bed (eg all lights, the TV, electronically controlled blinds, etc). The room airconditioning was good. The soaps, shampoos etc are good quality. The shower was great.
Depending on the rate available I would definitely stay again. My qualifications that hold me back from an excellent rating are: 1) The room size - felt a little small; 2) WiFi is available but I gather there is a charge (I am not sure of the cost because I used my own WiFi modem) I do think that WiFi should now be free but find most Sydney Hotels still charge for it; 3) Car parking is on the high side - it cost us $149 for two nights whereas my experience is that CBD Hotel Parking is typically between $45 and $65 per night. On the latter point, to be fair, I should note that the car parking access directly under the hotel is very easy.
Room Tip: We were allocated a room on level 42 (there are 43 levels of which the hotel rooms occupy floors 18...

In relation to your comments pertaining to WiFi, we now provide complimentary WiFi in the lobby and all public areas for all hotel guests. With regards to the car park charges you experienced, our car park is owned by Secure Parking who charge $58.00 per night for valet service or $46.52 for Self Parking. These prices are based on a 24 hour cycle and hourly rates apply thereafter, hence the slightly higher charge you seem to have received.
