“Late night drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

We can't remotely afford to stay here, but enjoy dropping in for a late night drink before retiring to our more modest hotel, The bar at the back of the foyer is very pleasant in soothing mid browns and the service is beautiful. Of course, it's not cheap, but a liqueur coffee in one of their squishy armchairs is a nice way to end the evening.

“Great Place and great views of the Opera House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Staying here for five days in this lovely city. This is our first time at this Four Seasons and it's very impressive. Early morning arrival was no problem and our room was ready on the 26th floor with views of the Opera House. Rooms are big and very comfortable with everything you could possibly want. Breakfasts are excellent. Will certainly stay here again.

“Not quite as expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Stayed 10th-16th Feb 2012 (6 nights)
Hotel was in an excellent location 2 mins walk from Circular Quay where all the life was!
Far from a five star as expected - only just a four in our books with 5 star pricing!.
Arrived in room and ac didn't work - took two hours to move to another room which smelt of stale tobacco. Room was serviced 4 out of 6 times - had to inform hotel twice and room only done at 5pm! Breakfast was excellent though. Bed quality excellent but room quite small Maybe try Shangri-la which was next door. Marriott is close by too

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about your stay.

I am glad to read that you found the location of the hotel in an excellent location.
However, I would like extend my apologies for not meeting your expectations with the guest room.
I am very sorry that you did not have a perfect arrival experience and it took quite some time to rectify the situation. Our hotel is 100% non-smoking but unfortunately some people still smoke in the rooms.
Please feel free to contact me on your next visit to Sydney as I will ensure you that these issues are an exception and not a normal experience.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Four Seasons.

Sincerely
David Macklin

“Great nibbles in the foyer bar!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

We admit we went for one of the cheaper rooms but were told when we booked we would be able to see the harbour.
Our room had a pointed window which we could see the traffic driving onto the Sydney harbour bridge ...but only when we sat at the desk. You get what you pay for!
Personally we found the room a little cramped for the 2 of us, not very wide. Though we loved the toiletries ..L'Occitaine, I think!
Location is THE best thing about this hotel as The Rocks, Circular Quay, Opera House ..etc are a few minutes walk away!
We had drinks in the foyer bar ...Hendricks & tonics which were served correctly with cucumber & with complimentary popcorn which were infused with white truffle oil ....a very nice touch!!

“TIRED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

If you advertise as five star the experience must live up to the promise sadly this is a third rate tired hotel which used to be the Regent has been rebranded as a Four Seasons and has failed in every aspect to meet expectations. We stayed in room 1803 which wasn't a room but a city view cupboard. The room were small an odd shape and poorly serviced. The bathroom was tiny (and I'm a large bloke 100kg 6'1") now thats not the hotels problem but when you can't sit on the toilet because its located in a corner and your knee's knock against the wall then Houston we have a problem. The bath was tiny got in okay needed a crane to get out. The last time I had my knee's that close to my chest I was flying economy with Jetsar!. At least the bath water was boiling hot. As an experience bathrooms in hotel rooms are vital and this just didn't cut it. The range of toiletries was lousy for a $350 a night hotel the bathrobe was so small a Peruvian midget would have had difficulties getting it on. As a five star hotel the best they came up with in the mini bar red wine department was Koonungra Hill from Penfolds REALLY I wouldn't run my tractors on it. Their only redemption was the bed it was fabulous.
Over priced and over rated, if this is what we in Australia promote as a five star experience then heaven help us it was a rubbish hotel

Room Tip: avoid the joint it sucks

I am sorry to read that we did no manage to meet your expectations with the size of the room and also the amenities.
We do have a wide range of rooms available that are different sizes and have different configurations.
