I have had the opportunity to travel around this world and stay at some of the best hotels and resorts on six of the continents. We now have another hotel to add to our list of best places we have stayed at. The best in Sydney.
In February, after a long cruise, my wife and I stayed at the Quay Grand Suites for three days. In my option, the Quay Grand has the best location for enjoying Sydney. Everything is very close - you are on the circular Quay: the Harbor Bridge, Opera House (three minute walk), Rocks (five minute walk), ferries, trains, buses (including Hop-On-Hop-Off and the free shuttle bus which we used to get to most ofl our sightseeing locations). It really is enjoyable to sit out on your own large balcony – right on the Sydney Harbor – drinking wine and eating Cheese and watching all the ships and boats.
Each unit is a true luxury apartment with a full kitchen and separate living room. There is a Jacuzzi and a large separate shower. Our unit also had the Harbor view. The other side of the building has the Opera/Botanical Garden view
Service is on the 5 star level with David Board (Chief Concierge) and his staff taking care of you. The best service was from Michael - a young gentleman/bellman/take care of everything needed - who is also attending college for his “Hospitality Degree”. They really make you feel at home and that they do care about you. The only problem, during the stay, was a minor one at breakfast.
We reviewed the big 5 hotels and I know we pick the right place to stay.
P.S. I Visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship. If you are there on Saturday or Sunday – walk through the street markets in the Rocks area. Watch the Saturday night fireworks over the Opera House.
Room Tip: Best view for enjoyment is the Harbor View
