myself and my two adult children traveled to Australia in October 2011 and after staying in Newcastle we decided to go down to Sydney for 2 days and one night. our friends that live in Oz had stayed their before and highly recommended it. How right they was. When we pulled up, there was someone there to park our car, we were asked if it was anyone's celebration so they could treat us to a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately i cannot remember the managers name but he was excellent with info in every-way, and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay a memorable one.as was the people on reception.
we took a suite 5 floors from the top..... this is a must, as the whole of Sydney harbor is your view. although there are some terrific restaurants in Sydney, in the evening we had food delivered to our suite from one of the restaurants in the hotels information guide, And we just savoured the view as the sun went down.
we had a two bedroom suite , the bedrooms were large, the kitchen was not over big but quite adequate for our needs... the towels were luxurious and the dressing gowns were also.
there is an indoor swimming pool to use but note there are no lifeguards so probably not ideal for children to use on their own. but never the less, it was a decent size and we enjoyed using it.
as parking in Sydney is quite expensive, this location is ideal as it is only about a 6 minutes walk to where everything happens in the harbour and is also close to the ferries. just note that if you have anyone with a wheelchair, there is one quite steep hill to get down and i think it may be a struggle to push someone back up the hill if the carer is elderly. ... a short taxi ride would obviously solve this problem.
