the potts point crew was absolutely lovely. we arrived to kick off our australian adventure and from the moment we walked through their door they were gracious, knowledgeable, generous and all around wonderful. they pointed us in the direction of the nearby playground (we arrived after a month in bali with 3 children under 5 y/o) and provided us with a map, great food suggestions, local attractions and helpful tips. we spent many hours wandering the nearby gardens, waterfront and city. they graciously allowed us to use the sunroom to give the kids an early supper and we were able to curl up in front of the warm fire and enjoy a glass of wine at then end of our day. the people we met were also great and everything contributed to the perfect stay. i hope that we are able to return one day soon.

Lee Ann and I found Simpsons to be the perfect oasis during our three day visit to Sydney. Simpsons is a lovely inn, and wonderfully quiet. Keith is the perfect host, personable, gracious and unflapable. And Keith KNOWS Sydney. His suggestions as to what to see, what routes to take, where to dine etc. were all spot on. Sydney is a wonderful city, full of marvelous sites to visit. It's wonderfully compact, so you can walk everywhere, and after a busy day, you get to return to Simpsons too! Perfect!

Our family of four arrived after a long flight from Canada to be greeted by Keith, who welcomed us into his home with a friendly smile and a generous welcome. The house is absolutely amazing with stained glass windows, high ceilings, crown mouldings, and is beautifully renovated. There is a library and diningroom with a computer which guests may access any time. A sideboard holds sherry and por,t which I sometimes succombed to, and outside the dining room is a small intimate patio, which we used several times to entertain friends. Our room was large and airy, with a small garden patio, and tea/coffee facilities were provided. Breakfast was served in a sunny conservatory and the array of food options was mouthwatering. One day I told Maree I loved passionfruit and couldn't get them easily in Canada - the next morning, there were passionfruit in the large fruit bowl! Keith would give us maps of how to get to where we wanted to go and was always onhand to help us with tourist information and directions. The location of Simpsons is fabulous, with shops and restaurants around the corner, and is easy walking distance to downtown, the Domain, Art Gallery and The Rocks. If you're planning a trip to Sydney, forget the hotels and book in at Simpsons of Potts Point. You won't want to leave! Thanks Keith and Maree for making our stay so amazing!

My partner and I had never been to Sydney before so we found the accommodation through wotif and saw a special rate going for the time we would be visiting. It looked promising but what we didn't realise was how helpful the staff would be, how gorgeous the historic house is, and what a great place it was in. Potts Point was a bit of a gamble for us since we didn't know the area, but everything was accessible either on foot (if you have sneakers on and plenty of time) or via the underground train and busses. At the end of a long day of seeing as much as we could, our cosy room up in the attic was an absolute haven and the easy breakfast system in the mornings meant we always got off to a good start. We may have taken a few pictures of the house itself for inspiration when we eventually build our own, or perhaps restore an old house.
