actual arrival date in Sofitel hotel was February 14. There was some confusion with our booking because of our one-night free stay. Reception (William) sorted this out for us. Next time we wil book a room without a bath because of the danger of stepping into the shower. I nearly had my holiday ruined when the plastic mat slipped.

The service was very good. Although I was charged for a meal which we didn't have and the free day was not deleted from the bill.

Cockroach baits need to be placed in rooms as we stumbled over a big one.

The lounge service was very efficient.

The breakfast was acceptable. But the plates needed to be warmed. As with the meal as well.

Otherwise we were very impressed on arrival with efficient service and look forward to another stay. Thankyou.

“Great hotel, terrible service”

Stayed overnight for a business trip. The hotel looks stunning as your walk in, so I expected there to be a decent level of service. Such a let down. At the reception desk the girl asked for my name and credit card to check me in, asked me to sign a receipt, and then put my cc and room card on the desk and walked away. Errr...how about telling me what floor I'm on? How about telling me where the elevators are? I guess I just had to figure that out for myself. The room was quite nice. The beds have feather overlays which feel very comfortable, but I find difficult to sleep on as they mold around you and make it impossible to move. I ordered room service as I got in quite late. They couldn't make a steak sandwich as they were out of stock (!), so I ordered a burger instead. They said it would be an hour wait (again (!)) and true to their word it took at least that long to arrive. And when it did, it was cold. And dripping blood everywhere. My only consolation is that work was paying for it, not me. By this stage it was too late to complain and I didn't want to wait another hour....such a shame that this hotel doesn't offer the full experience - great amenities AND great service.

“Disappointing”

Great location, beautiful lobby but that's where it stops. Checked into my room which smelled of mould or smoke - when I rang to tell reception they said someone would come and spray my room. After they agreed to move me to another room I then waited 45 minutes for the worst room service meal ever. Ordered a salad without onions which came with onions and looked like it had come from McDonald's. Granted room service menu was not great in the first place (meal with mashed potato listed under healthy options?) but thought a salad was full proof. Then order breakfast and was equally disappointed - stuff missing and poor quality fruit. Then when I got back to my room at 8.30pm my breakfast tray was still in my room. Back to the Hilton or Westin for me for now on. Much better product, service and value. Ps if you forget your iPhone charger they don't trust you with these in your room and you have to leave your phone at concierge to charge!

“A comfortable room when you are out all day”

We stayed here after booking a mystery hotel, and I think if we had paid full price I would have expected a little more.  We stayed in a classic room and while small it was clean and tidy.  The bed was a king size and comfortable however there was a definite ridge that could be felt in the middle.  The bathroom was clean up till about 1.5m high, after that marks can be seen.  The cost of room service and the mini bar was a joke, probably the most expensive I have seen, however the lounge in the lobby provides light meals at a fraction of the cost and even a few breakfast options for $10 (although it wasn't open Saturday morning).  The staff were very attentive and helpful, my only issue was on the Friday we put a do not disturb on the door.  When we arrived back at the room in the afternoon there was a note saying they didn't clean our room and to call housekeeping if we wanted anything.  We then left and came back to our room around 6:30pm to find housekeeping cleaning our room and she was not happy that we asked her to leave.  Aside from this the staff were great.  Overall we enjoyed our time at the hotel, however I would most likely only go back if I wasn't paying full price.
