“Excellent location, wonderful rooms. Shame about the lack of staff...”
My fiance and I stayed at Quest on Dixon for one night in December. On arrival we had no problem checking in, and were both very pleased with our room. The hotel is located in the heart of the city - right next to the Chinese Gardens at Darling Harbour. Monorail and light rail stations were both located within a short walking distance of the hotel, which made it simple to get around the city.
At night we found plenty of international eateries located across the road, open until the early hours.
Despite the fact that these apartments are located in a prime part of the city we had no problem with outside noise while in our room, and the block out curtains and soft mattress meant that we both got an excellent nights sleep.
Our only major problem occured when we had to check out. As there was only one person working on the front desk at the reception area it took us 20 minutes to check out. We decided to leave our bag at the hotel and have one last look around the city before heading home. When we came back to retreive our back we found an even bigger line up in the foyer, and ended up missing our train home.
Overall, we found the place to be excellent, though I'm sure it wouldn't kill management to put on one extra staff member during peak periods, particularly during the holiday season.
Room Tip: The apartments on the second floor with their own private courtyards are excellent.
