“Great short stay at Novotel Brisbane”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

I loved my stay at the Novotel in Brisbane, the room was big with 2 queen size beds and beautiful bedding. It also had a sofa, large flat screen TV and plenty of room to store luggage. The bathroom had a shower over the bath which was fine for me but difficult for my elderly mother to get in and out of. The pool and gym area was large and clean. Staff were very helpful and always cutious. The position of the hotel was a little out of the way and up a very steep hill from the city, I never realised Brisbane was so hilly until this trip. Parking is available on site for $28 a day, you do have to get you ticket validated from reception staff first otherwise you get charged each time you leave the hotel. The best part of our stay at this novotel as the food. We ate at the bar, the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. I have stayed at novotels all over the world and would rate there dinner and bar meals as some of the best I have had and very reasonably priced, as I have a accor advantage plus card meals were half price. The breakfast was a bit below standard and the coffee was terrible, dried up bacon, shrivelled eggs, but i have to say the yoghurt, burcher muesli and rice dish was lovely. They also have an organic section with beautiful banana bread. Overall I would rate this Novotel as 8/10 and would stay here again.

“Late in early out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

Arrived late from the airport and had a little difficulty in locating the hotel. Check in was easy and professional. Parking cost $25

Rooms were spacious and the king size bed very comfortable. Bathroom was nice and the shower was hot.

Breakfast I believe was pricey at $30 but looked to have pretty much anything you might want. We went down toe street for a $10 breakfast.

All in all the quality was very good located close to central station. Well located if you have business in town.

“Average Business Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

Nothing really stand out about this property either good or bad. The service was fairly good, the room was clean but only basically appointed, and I found the linens to be poor. Room was a decent size, as was bathroom and the shower had great pressure. First night had a wonderfully fluffy towel and was disappointed to see that it was replaced with shabby old ones on the second night.
Close to city centre, but if you are walking, there is a steep hill to climb and a relatively dangerous road to cross (off an extremely narrow sidewalk) without a cross walk or traffic light.
Considering the price, I thought the Novotel delivered an experience that I expected, and I wouldn't mind staying at the hotel in the future when doing business in Brisbane. I also wouldn't rave about it - a solid average.

Room Tip: As with most hotels, ask to be away from the elevators as I was awakened by a noisy crowd returning...
