Other reviews have comments about the dated interiors of the bungalows. It is true but you will live your holiday on the deck outside less than 10 metres to the beach and 10 more to the sea when the tide is out. NOW THAT WILL NEVER BE DATED - ITS JUST PARADISE !!!! If you book thro an agent make contact directly to confirm the room required. Austravel made our booking via agents and we got a 4 berth bungalow. we wanted a 2 berth because while smaller it means from your bed you look out to the sea. Its worth the loss of space in my opinion. PLEASE GO TO ELLIS BEACH TO RELAX and CHILL OUT. Its not palm cove and its better !!!!! If quiet is important then email to make sure your not lodged next to the pool - pretty sure if they can they will.k

stayed in our camper van here for 2 nights, right beside the beach, great showers & toilets etc, clean tidy, literally had 2 fridges, 1 sink and 1 bbq plate and 2 gas hobs in the kitchen area and that was it. All said and done though if you have the kit with you, this is a superb camp site. Love it.

This was our second visit to Ellis Beach and we loved it even more this time around...
We booked direct with Paul as we wanted to stay in the same beach bungelow as on our first visit and he arranged for us to do just that... Thanks Paul...
We had a lovely compact sea front bungelow ( sugar glider) spotlessly clean and very well furnished, the kitchenette is well equiped, neat and comfy bedrooms, shower room, the spacious lounge/ dining area leads onto a small sundeck with table and chairs a few feet away from the beach overlooking the ocean, the bungelows are serviced on longer stays, it has a good sized clean swimming pool & sunbeds, bbq area and the small shop at reception sells basics.
There are numerous excursions on offer at reception ( but due to the weather it is best to book these when you arrive) Paul and his staff are very friendly and helpfull and offer lots of advise, we asked Paul to arrange car hire for us before we arrived in Cairns which he did (Gem Car Hire Cairns ask for Charles) and at a very good price.
The bungelows are appx 10mins from Palm Cove which is a very pretty resort, Clifton & Trinity beaches are nearby as is Yorkeys Knob, it is appx 20/30 mins to Cairns and about the same to Port Douglas where you can arrange Reef visits etc, plus it is a nice shopping area with good bars/restaurants and a marina.
Karunda is worth a visit either by car of Sky Rail its also within easy reach of Daintree.
Although our stay at Ellis Beach was cut short due to Cyclone Yasi we had a great time again, walks along the beach the breathtaking scenery so much to take in and you just can't beat breakfast / evening drink on the sundeck overlooking the ocean, wonderfull.... no doubt we will be returning again......

We stayed at Ellis Beach Oceanfront bungalows for 7 nights on recommendation from a family member, and would definitely return.The location is stunningly beautiful. Our cabin had been refurbished about 18 months ago and was very nicely presented and very clean. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. To wake to the sounds and sights of the ocean gently rolling in, and sit on the sundrenched deck each morning for breakfast was magical. To finish each day, with a glass of wine, sitting on the deck, and watching the moon shining on the ocean -what more could you ask for?
Great holiday and good value-central location- 5 minutes to Palm Cove, approx 20 minutes from Cairns-close enough to be convenient, but away from the hustle and bustle.
