The service was ok, not over the top. Check in took a while , we got there at 12 and our room wasn't available so we came back at 2.45 and it was still being made up, but it was a room with a view so at least they didn't shortchange us.
We paid about $180 for the aquaview room, no extras included, but it was very busy on the coast that weekend, and other places were way more than usual so this may be why it was pretty expensive as a last minute getaway.
The rooms were renovated old style rooms and quite small. We were fortunate to be on the 21st floor so had great views of the ocean and river, along with Cavill avenue. We could hear the street noise but it was not intolerable (that said the jet boats go from out the back, so can't comment on when they start).
Location wise it was fantastic, short walk through the mall to the surf, close to restaurants and night life.Facilities wise: The gym is really a cardio room with no real weights to speak of (10kg dumbbells max) and was not air-conditioned or sufficiently ventilated (it only had a portable fan!) but had about 5 treadmills or similar. The pool is nice but tiny, and the walkway over it could do with a coat of paint. One suggestion would be to make the fencing around the pool and facing the river less imposing; it would be great to look out over the river from the sun lounge rather than at the latticed fencing there at present. Be aware you also have to pay for parking, it was $8 for the night we were there (which wasn't disclosed when we booked). I can't comment on the restaurant as the 2nd floor was being renovated so i don't think it was available.
The views were great from our balcony, this and the location are what we liked best.
There wasn't anything to hate about the accom, it just wasn't as good value for money wise as other places i have stayed on the coast.
Not a bad experience, but definitely not the best.

Room Tip: Go for the higher levels because they can't have a bad view. Noisewise you are better off on the...

I do apoligise that you did find the hotel “worth the money”. You alluded to in you review Vibe was quiet well priced compared to other hotel that were available over the same dates. We here at the Vibe feel the hotel is well priced for the facilities and many of the review over the last 3 months agree. Hotel rates will fluctuate and if you are after the best deals generally booking in advance will assist.

“Disappointing”

I stayed here with friends for 5 nights and after 1 night i was ready to leave. When paying this much for a hotel, it's definately not worth it. The service was pretty average and they didn't seem to be very on top of things. The rooms aren't overly large and the sheets felt like sand paper which incidentally gave me some sort of weird rash on my arms and legs. The absolute worst part was that our room had NO air conditioning or fans. To get any air circulating in the room we had to keep our balcony door open at all times, and at night this meant mosquitos came into our room and the noise from the highway was insanely loud. At the time of our stay one of the hotel lifts wasn't working, and we often had to take the back maintenance lift that took about 5 mins to get to you and at times got stuck. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the bus, supermarkets, clubs, shops and restaurants. However there are many other hotels in this location that have better value for money and are all round better. I wasn't impressed.

I do apoligise that you did not enjoy your stay with us, after reading you review it does not sound like a positive experience.

In regards to the air conditioning issues that you faced, if these issues are reported they can be handled straight away. This can be either by fixing the issue or if the issue requires additional works the hotel will provide you with a new room.

During your stay in September 2011 the hotel went a major lift refurbishment, this was a 26 week operation 2 years in the planning. These 26 weeks that were chosen were the quietest all year and I offer my apologies again that this has coincided with your Vibe experience. I am happy to report that these lifts are now smoother & faster than ever, even receiving positive comments on this very website.

“Great service from management and staff”

I stayed at the hotel on the 16th of February with a friend after booking a package for 220 dollars which was a aqua view room, 2 tickets for Jetboat Extreme and breakfast for the 2 people. The morning of arrival the customer service started, I got a phone call from the lovely Jade asking what time we wanted to book the Jet Boating for (called around 8:30am) and even said we could check in straight away as the room was ready.

The lady who was checking us in (I think her name was Amber) was in training, so check in was a bit slower than normal. However she was incredibly friendly and helpful so this was not an issue and it's expected when you are in training. Our room was on the 21st floor, but however the Air Conditioning was not appearing to work properly. After ringing management they came up and checked on it and left us for 20 mins or so and then came back up to see if it was working.

We then got moved to the 15th floor with an ocean view due to the air con not working, honestly the manager (Christian) went above and beyond to make sure that we were accommodated and looked after during the stay.

The only slightly bad thing about the stay was honestly the food in the restaurant, but it might have been due to the time we went (9:30am and it was dead). It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't brilliant. Also, the beds were not as soft as I would have liked, but they were not bad really.

I would recommend anyone that is looking at going Jet Boating to book through you guys, because considering the tickets are 55 dollars a person, you pay a extra 40 and you get a night in a great hotel with breakfast for 2 people. Not to mention I would come back to this hotel any day for the staff alone!

After staying there for 1 night I wasn't overly impressed. Firstly the size of our room for what we paid was depressing, secondly a week after our stay the entire family broke out with head lice. My third issue was breakfast it is obvious that they tried to put on a good one but, the food was cold and the selection was very limited. That being said we did have a good view of the hinterlands and the location was great. Only reason the vibe is getting 3 stars is because I rounded up from 2 and a half stars.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Vibe Hotel Gold Coast. We appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your feedback.

The main point that I would like to address is the comment regarding Head lice. Head lice live in the hair and come down to the scalp to feed by sucking blood from the scalp, as horrible as this sounds they need this blood to survive.

I can advise that we at the Vibe Hotel have had no instance of this through our team or the 10,000+ guests we serviced over the month of January. There was a report of a “break out” of head lice on the Gold Coast , however this is based on news reports & newspapers. This is generally contributed to by the large amount of people on the Gold Coast for the school holidays. The report stated that people who attended shopping centers & theme parks were most at risk.

I am disappointed that you did not enjoy the breakfast & will share your feedback with our kitchen team in an effort to improve our guest’s experience.

“Not so much a 4* but it was Ok”

Arrived at the hotel to find only one of our bookings had been found, we had made a booking for an extra night as we arrived early, but had a previous booking for 13 nights and this was the booking that could not be found. we were told to we could check in but might have to move rooms the next day. first problem was that i needed the internet, you can pay a ridiculous amount of money for one night or pay for 7 nights and make a great saving, i was told i could not do the 7 day internet package in case i had to switch hotel rooms. Also during our stay, we were stuck with just one elevator in use, as repairs were being carried for the whole 2 weeks we were there. I don't think this was a good idea seeing as the hotel caters for alot of guests which at points had me waiting at least 10 minutes for an Lift. The room was nice but did not think it had that 4/5* feeling to it. What i can say about this hotel is that the staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all, it was an okay hotel but i don't think i will be telling friends to stay here.

Room Tip: Book via the website, much cheaper deals.

Thank you for your review following your stay with us. I can see that you stayed back with us September 2011, wow how time flies as we are now in February 2012.

I do apologise that you booking could not be located & that you were informed that you may have to move rooms mid stay. If the hotel would have done everything in its power to keep you in the same room & I am sure that is what happened in the end, but I understand that you did not need the additional worries or moving rooms as you were on Holidays.

In 2011 the hotel went a major lift refurbishment, this was a 26 week operation 2 years in the planning. There were however 2 lift’s always operational as the lift around near our Pool Bar was in service 24/7 for our guests. I am happy to report that these lifts are now smoother & faster than ever, even receiving positive comments on this very website.
