This really is a boutique hotel. We arrived on Australia Day, and the guy on reception couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, which is a great start. We had the family room which consisted of a "front door" leading to a corridor from which 2 separate locking rooms were located with a shared bathroom at the end. Both rooms were very well appointed, well decorated and comfortable. I really felt as if I was in a boutique hotel.
There is no parking on site, so you take you pot luck with what's available on the street. As it was Australia Day, this wasn't an issue for us as parking was free and plentiful then.
The breakfast is basic and taken in a shared kitchen/eating area on each floor. I was happy with the OJ and toast provided.
There was also free internet on the hotel computer located near reception. However, there is only one computer, and when we there, one guy hogged it continuously. I would suggest that the hotel put a polite notice beside it suggesting each user has a maximum of 15 minutes usage as I've seen done elsewhere.
The hotel location is excellent - near most of the tourist sites and easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. We drove to the botanic gardens, which were reasonably close by, but it was very hot and we didn't have the energy to walk too far.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
