We stayed at the Intercontinental in a King Club room for one night over the weekend. We had purchased the room on a 30 day advanced purchase, which makes it quite good value. We arrived about 9.30 in the morning, but a room was available and so we were checked in and went straight up, which we appreciated greatly. The room was not big, but was well appointed and comfortable. The Club lounge is excellent and open from 7.00am to 9.00pm with breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea and drinks available from 5.30 to 7.30 in the evening. Internet access is no longer complimentary in the club, which is a pity. Service was very good overall. There was a slight hiccup with our bill, as we had been charged for use of the minibar despite not having used it, however, this was dealt with professionally by the checkout staff and no charges were made against our account. We didn't eat at the hotel, but after looking at the menu for the cafe we will next time. The beds are very comfortable but would be even better with a top sheet as well as a quilt as we got quite hot during the night.
