On arrival, I was feeling quite unwell. The staff were brilliant, particularly the concierge who arranged a room upgrade and a visit to the doctor. The facilities, decor and friendly staff set the Sebel apart from other city hotels. We have stayed in other Sebel hotels and would make them our first choice for a city break. Despite our poor exchange rate we feel this hotel is excellent value for money.
We stayed here for a recent conference after reading such good reviews on this website. I have to say I was disappointed, as were my colleagues. The hotel has some good points - clean, reasonable buffet breakfast, next to tram stop, mostly helpful staff but it is certainly not 5 star and certainly not "luxurious". The decor is dated, the front desk lady was quite unhelpful when we wanting to change a breakfast booking and the next street is a clubbing district with undesirables staggering around. Overall, it is an ok hotel but more that it just does not live up to the luxury tag that it has been given, not by a long shot. Our friends stayed at the Hilton and were happier. Overall, an ok hotel, 3 stars. Will not stay here again simply because there must be better hotels in Adelaide.
This hotel exceeded my expectations in quality, service and value for money. My room was spacious and well appointed. The only minor negative is the view, as my room looked straight into the hotel next door, but this is an unfortunate problem with inner city hotels. The room was very quiet.
Stayed for 4 nights in a loft suite and the room was very nice, exept for a bad view. The staff at this hotel are great, especially the French concierge! They were all very helpful about ordering tours and were to find things in the city. The tram stops almost outside the hotel. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was very good, so was the service. Will definetly recommend this hotel!
