“Exceeded expectations in almost every way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

My client put me up here for 12 nights. I had some previous experience with the hotel because of work functions in the meeting rooms and hence was not that enthused about the idea of staying here for such a time.

I should not have worried.

Two things stand out about the hotel:
- the rooms have been refurbished and were comfortable, funky, well sized and practical. In Room 213, the desk had accessible power and date cables (a bugbear of mine), the bed was incredibly comfortable, the room came with a toaster, and the shower was huge with double shower heads (including a rainfall head). The thing that impressed me most, however, was the style that the interior design had, particularly the nice wood/laminate furniture and highlight panels, offset by the tasteful use of mirrors and old (1950s) photos of the Melbourne CBD (which carried out to public spaces as well).
- the staff were incredibly helpful (and plentiful). There always seemed to be multiple staff at the lifts and in the lobby who would say hello and offer some form of assistance.

Without a doubt I would head back to the Melbourne Marriott Hotel.

“5th Stay at Melbourne Marriott”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The hotel has had a makeover and the rooms are more modern than was previously the case. It still feels fairly exclusive and is in general a welcome haven to relax in after a working day.

Staff have always been great, friendly and efficient. The food, both room-service and restaurant are the biggest let-down, not terrible, but not great either. However why eat in when you are within 5 minutes walk of several great restaurants including Bamboo House which has the best Peking Duck I have ever tasted. What's more they make the pancakes for you, no D.I.Y. here. Also try Long Grain - a Thai / Vietnamese fusion restaurant which is lively, but serves up amazing, adventurous food. Both are, i believe on Little Bourke Street, but head up not down from Exhibition St.

“Good Value, Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Just spent six nights at the Marriot. Large rooms with very large LCD TV. Staff was helpful. Hotel is located within two blocks of many good resturants.

“Staff are first class”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Best thing about this hotel are the staff. They are second to none. I travel the world and haven't come across this type of genuine hospitality in a very long time. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is also in a great CBd location.

“My stay at the Marriott in Melbourne Austrlia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

First time for me to stay in this marriott, which is in the CBD and close to all sorts of restaurants, theatre's and general sightseeing. The staff makes you feel very welcome and will help with anything. Makes suggestions on restaruants (where all turned out to be good) and places to see and so forth. i would reccomend this to anyone.
