“Hotel Review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

Very nice set up...Black decor is not my style, but curtains were block out so did the job. We only stayed one night so did not use most of the available facilities. The bath was huge...I would have had trouble getting in & out!!!!

“Great Location, Very Comfortable Suites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

We were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms all newly renovated when we stayed in January (we had stayed here previously a year ago). The new decor is plush, chic and definitely oozes with 5+star ambience. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. After checking in and going up to our rooms - we got a call from the front desk within 10 minutes asking us if we found everything to our satisfaction and if we required anything extra (towels, tea/coffee etc). Made us feel very welcome. We stayed 5 nights and it was always a pleasure coming back - front desk staff were always helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were happy. On one occasion, I asked for help to print some theatre tickets that I had bought on line - was told to email the reservation to the front desk and they would print it out for me. To my surprise, within 10 minutes, the printed tickets were slipped under our room door including a map highlighting the walking route from the hotel to the theatre! That is what I call service.

The suite itself is very comfortable - super comfortable bed and a leather sofa which opens up into a double bed. The bathroom is large with lots of space (no bath tub, just shower - which suited us fine). The kitchenette was also well equipped (with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery if you should feel like cooking something up). We didn't use the kitchen facilities given the abundance of restaurants and cafes close by.

The location is perfect - close to all the trendy boutiques and cafes off Flinders Lane as well as a stone's throw away from Southbank, the casino and all the restaurants there. All in all, a wonderful stay and this will be my choice of hotel whenever I am in Melbourne.

“Newly renovated & great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Right in the heart of Melbourne CBD, the room was a good size with kitchen, lounge, bedroom & bathroom(great shower head). Only complaint was the room had a really strong smell when we first arrived from the new carpet. But after a few cups of coffee and opening all the windows the smell went. Check in/out was easy, we ordered breakfast from local cafe from the in room menu, food was tasty & not too expensive. The bed was really comfortable & there is a little balcony which is an added bonus as you can open the doors and let some fresh air in. Overall a nice hotel & would recommend it.

“We've stayed here every January. Love the location. Love the renovations.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We were eager to see the renovations and were not disappointed, except that they didn't include laundry facilities in the apartments while they were at it.
I hate having to pay $5 per wash & dry when most similar places have individual laundries with powder supplied.
The $30/night parking is a bit steep too, when some hotels in inner Melbourne charge $15.
Still it's very convenient to a supermarket, transport, shopping and has some lovely cafes & restaurants within a stone's throw.
Helpful staff and a quiet haven. Just don't expect a view.

Room Tip: The 6th floor has a courtyard.
