“A little disappointed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012 via mobile

After staying in beautiful hotels in WA I chose the Hyatt for our final night expecting it to be the best. It wasn't! The usual good facilities and cleanliness that you expect from the Hyatt were all there however from our check in where I specifically requested a quiet non smoking room with a river view and breakfast, seemed to be a bit much. I booked and paid for this through their site before arriving. I also rung the hotel direct as I was celebrating an event. I was given a low floor with no views initially which I didn't want. I then was upgraded but they charged me an extra $ 30. It was so noisy! The noise of the entertainment wafted through the atrium, then the hotel downstairs started up. The position of the hotel is awful. Away from everything. Take your earphones if you choose to stay here. If you want a better position try Rydges.

Dear DeborahWeekes
I appreciate you providing this feedback and sincerely apologise that you experienced a less than satisfactory experience in our hotel. While it’s pleasing to hear that you found the facilities and cleanliness throughout the hotel to be good, it’s disappointing to know that your request for a room with a view was not registered appropriately, inconveniencing you. While many guests enjoy the lively atmosphere of the hotel’s lobby, please be assured that your feedback has been passed on to our management team and checks have been put in place regarding noise level in the evenings. You may be interested to know that we offer a free shuttle service to the CBD every week day morning. The Transperth buses which stop outside the hotel are also free within the CBD. Prior to your next stay, may I suggest you email me direct at hrperth.gm@hyatt.com with your personal preferences so I can personally make sure you are well looked after. I look forward to welcoming you back one day soon.
Kind regards,
Adam Myott,

“A fantastic hotel”

Flew over for a work trip to Perth and the Margaret River. Checked in on Saturday 11th February and could not fault the hotel. Had a King Room which was fantastic with a beautiful view of the Swan River. The staff were very friendly and very informative when asked about where to go in Perth. The lobby bar is great and the breakfast was sensational. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: King Room overlooking the Swan

We are fortunate in our location to be able to offer guests such beautiful views from their rooms and I’m pleased to hear that the staff here were helpful and knowledgeable when giving you information about Perth. “Great staff enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

I had read mixed reviews, my daughter and I were delighted with our stay and found the room a twin river view room to be large compared to most. It was clean with great ammenities the lobby is delightful and a comfortable please to sit and relax.
The staff were without exception friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet had a huge selection, have too say quite pricey though.
The Pool area was great and the pool itself clean and inviting, well equipped gym, the one small negative is location as it is a fair walk to the main city shopping area and further into Northbridge.
I would definetely stay here again and if you get a discounted price on your stay it is great value for money.

Room Tip: Double deluxe or river view room nice layout and spacious

“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Stayed overnight at the Hyatt for my birthday in a standard room with kingsize bed including buffet breakfast and free parking. excellent value. buffet breakfast was the best we have had. room was spacious, clean with very comfortable bed. would def. come back next time they have such a good value special rate. only down side is it is a bit far from the city and northbridge if u r walking. Also had to queue for a breakfast table which was a bit odd.

“Service does not match price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

For the price charged, one of the most expensive in Australia, one assumes that there will be a commensurate service delivery.
Unfortunately, when you need service, it does not exist.
All the staff are pleasant and smile well but at the areas when you need service, it is not there.
As I've mentioned in previous reviews my wife has a couple of food allergies - wheat and dairy.
The team at Central Reservations in Melbourne were excellent - took all the details and rang the Perth hotel while I was on the line to ensure that our needs were noted.
When we got to the Club Lounge though the Chef smiled and said he was looking after my wife - he had some salmon on cucumber and tomatoes and olives.
Clearly they were not used to such a request.
Fortunately though we were heading off to a degustation dinner at Restaurant Amuse so it wasn't a major problem.
However, the car was not there downstairs although the concierge had said it would be ready for us at a nominated time.
We could have walked to the restaurant in the time it took to get the car.
The next morning was little better - the options for breakfast were limited - they seem to think gluten free bread will satisfy all needs.
On check-out as my wife lugged several bags past the concierge, he could barely raise his eye-brows.
Little interest in helping.
The concierge on the drive-way looking at the road works creating all the noise that had upset other guests wiated till we got the bags to the car and then asked "can I help you"
A question guaranteed to inflame our thoughts of the service or lack thereof.
If it was a 2 star hotel, we wouldn't worry but at $450 for a standard room (more for a Club Lounge) then the expectations of service are raised.
We are though familiar with the quality of Hyatt service - the Park Hyatt in Melbourne is excellent, they address us by name and cannot do enough to look after us.
Unfortunately the common statement - "this is Perth, we do things differently here holds true at this hotel.
