The location is why I chose this hotel and when I stay for more than 2 nights I prefer an apartment. Around the corner from this hotel is a Woolies, Myer, D.J.'s and all the speciality shops. My husband attended a Conference in the Convention Centre and was an easy stroll each day. The apartment itself had all that was needed.Clean, spacious, good kitchen, washing machine, dryer, bath. They have a small gym and a small swimming pool. Only 2 deck chairs so not much room to sit around. This area could be upgraded. The first evening quite noisy but the other 3 nights fine. The lounges were ok but what was badly needed was a curtain to block the afternoon sun. They only supplied a sheer curtain so couldn't watch TV till dark. Our air con failed so had to be moved to another room. The staff are friendly and helpful. I think this is a good alternative to the usual hotels. I would stay again.

Great location, clean and comfortable. Also, as I had requested a quiet room, and most bedrooms seemed to face Barrack Street, I was happy to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment, high up on the 9th floor, which had an interior second bedroom which was very quiet.
The tv screen in the lounge had no vision when I arrived. I reported it in the morning and it was fixed during the day, then did not work again the next morning. This happened for the next two nights as well, ie it was never properly fixed.
Also, one day someone pilfered some of my food items (a box of trail bars etc) from the room while I was at work (not a day during which the room was serviced), leaving on the countertop some of my perishables (yoghurt and soft drinks) which they had taken from the fridge, opened, sampled and left the mess, just to make it obvious. I reported this to a Reception staff person, who apologised.
Overall a mixed bag.

We recently returned from a weeks stay at Medina on Barrack. Rooms were perfectly sized, cleaned brilliantly every day with no complaints. They even stacked the dishwasher for us and emptied it! Staff were approachable and friendly. Location was perfect for us, shops on the doorstep and a stone throw from Northbridge. The most useful thing was that it was a few minutes walk from the train station. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Perth for a night or extended long stay. My only complaint and that would be an overly strong word is that there was no DVD player in the room and with movie rentals being $15.95 it seemed a bit steep considering all the other amenities were top notch. Also, and this happens in a lot of hotels, the double bed was two singles put together, so if you like a spoon like i do it makes it a little uncomfortable... overall 9/10. Would definately stay here again if i go to Perth.

Poition --under 5 minutes to railway station , Murray St mall including Woolworths ,DJs and Myers. 7 minutes to Art Gallery, State Library and Museum and Wellington Bus Station Cat and local buses at the door
Space -we had a 1 bedroom apartment (4) which has a good sized sitting/dining room and kitchen fully equipped for 4 , The bedroom has a king bed and lots of storage and the bathroom has a large shower (no tub) there is a small balcony and although noisy in the day it can be romantic at night ==despite heavy traffic there is no internal noise
We found the staff friendly and efficient and arriving early were given immediate check in
