good drive from the airport valet parking was friendly as was the check inn-check out did book a deluxe king harbour view but couldn't open the door as it was stuck and there was no more available disappointed so upgraded to a one bedroom suite room 911 which was lovely& roomy very modern bathroom was nice the only bad thing was no view and across the building was a back packers hostel which wasn't appealing restaurant was very nice the food was good and service location was great close to a lot of attractions wifi was free which was good

I stayed here overnight with a friend and was most impressed. I arrived early but was allowed to check in early which was very helpful. The reception were very helpful in providing information for things to do. The room was spacious and the bed was delightfully comfortable. Overall a very good stay and I will return

Were lucky enough to pick up a "grab one" voucher and utilise it over Auckland Anniversary Weekend. I had stayed at Rydges many times for work purposes so was looking forward to being there as a "visitor". I was surprised therefore when we arrived at our allocated time of 2pm (which I had even checked the day before) and was told no rooms were available. The check in person was however very nice and took our bags and offered us a complimentary drink in the bar. When we managed to get up to our room were pleasantly surprised to find we were on the top floor (A def plus) and had an incredible view of the Sky Tower with it's associated madness of people throwing themselves off the top (attached to a bungee though so all good). The room was of a standard you would expect of this type of hotel so no complaints at all. When we discovered there was only one drinking glass and one robe we rang house keeping and these were quickly replaced (but why weren't they there in the first case) I also discovered the next morning that someone had left no shampoo in our room.... unfortunately I was IN the shower by the time I discovered this and as my husband had gone for a walk I was left in the embarrassing situation of having to run around in a towel trying to find a housekeeper - very amusing for other guests I am sure - but again why was this a problem?

All in all a thoroughly decent stay in our wonderful city (the free wifi was a plus) - but one sour note - please clean up the area where the coffees are made - there is no need to have to see (2 days in a row) the same rubbish left piled in a corner behind the coffee machine which can be clearly seen from the forecourt area - NOT a good look.

Also breakfast is RIDICULOUSLY expensive - as a hint pop down the road to Starbucks. But for a thoroughly decent hotel that is central to everything with a pleasant outlook we would certainly come back.

We only spent one night here, it was our first day in New Zealand after a long flight from LA. It is just a short walk down to the waterfront which was nice. In conclusion very pleased with our hotel. The room was very spacious with a fantastic view of the harbor.
