The Balmoral Lodge was a warm, cosy and relaxing retreat in Invercargill on a weather beaten weekend.
The room had a mezzanine floor with a bedroom upstairs, a single bed in very spacious living area which featured comfortable lounge chairs, sofa and dining table. Kitchen facilities with all the things that you would require. Bathroom and toilet facilities very clean and well presented.
The heating was excellent and we were warm and toastie!
We would thoroughly recommend this establishment to one and all!!

We are pleased to read that although the weather was not that hospitable, the warmth of the Balmoral Lodge Motel made up for it. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to see you again in the future.
Kind Regards,
Janine

As the title sugests, this Motel is big enough and spacious to cater for four adults. The self contained kitchen was good too along with the location which is close to town. There are parks right outside the door and the unit was clean.

We had a 2 bedroom unit and it was massive - easily the most comfortable and spacious on our trip around the South Island. Very comfortable. Only downside that the town centre is probably too long a walk for a family with kids....

We stopped in Invercargill overnight on our way to Dunedin, and we had booked a 2 brdrm self contained unit , as we are with our 2yr old. The unit was massive, completely separate lounge, bed rooms & bath room. Lounge was actually a proper lounge, with arm chairs & large sofa, no single bed jammed into a corner spoiling the view. Very modern, fully equipped kitchen, massive bathroom, with bath, heated towel rack, heater & heated floor tiles. Bedrooms were large & you actually had room to put your bags away. 3 Tv's . Guest laundry, washing machines are free, but only $2 for the dryer. heaters in every room made it very comfy almost tropical. Clean & well looked after.

An excellent spot just outside the confines of the city. Easy walking distance to supermarket past Burger King and then across the main road. Ditto liquor store (turn left at BK, ) it's next door to KFC.) Further walk/ drive to restaurants, with only fast food available locally.
The motel room/ apartment means you can very easily cook for yourself with full size oven , fridge etc. bedroom is on a mezzanine so the feel is very spacious and homely. Excellent under floor heating in the bathroom and with whirlpool bath. Room 6.
Guest laundry free washes , 1 dollar for wash powder, 2 for drying. Iron and board in room and in the laundry.
Friendly and very helpful reception staff.

Room tip: Room 6, central. Inevitable motel sounds of adjoining guests' vehicles starting up on cold winter mornings. Otherwise no noise spill.
