We just returned from two weeks in the south of Morocco, starting and finishing the trip in Marrakesh. We stayed in Riad Verdeau, a very small (four rooms I believe) nice and quiet riad. The room was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated, and the personnel extremely kind without being too present. When we arrived the first time they received us with morrocan tea and typical local sweets and cakes. We discovered only after going out in the city how well situated the hotel was: only a 10 minutes walk to the big place Jemaa El Fna, and 1 minute from Dar Si Said en de Musee Twiskin etc. Breakfast was real morrocan which we thought was very nice but was a bit strange for our young daughter: not only bread but also cakes and sweet pancakes, which are forbidden to eat at home for breakfast!
We saw other riads in town that were more expensive and perhaps more sophisticated but we were quite happy to have made our own choice for Riad Verdeau. Also as far as the price is concerned this hotel is a good choice: 65 euros a night for a room for 3 people (including breakfast and tea in the afternoon).
If we ever go back to Marrakesh we will go back to this riad.
