“Positively surprised”

We stayed at the Mondior for two weekends in Sept.2010. We got a special weekend rate which was very reasonable. Our room was spacious and clean, reception staff friendly and helpful. The pick-up and drop-off at the airport was very efficient. News Cafe opposite was adequate to have a quick breakfast. All in all we would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and value for money hotel.

“Pleasant modern hotel just outside the centre of Gaborone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

There were three of us and we booked a suite which was excellent. It had two good sized double rooms a bathroom, kitchenette and large living room which was perfect for our needs
There is no restaurant in the hotel so you have to go to the "News Cafe" across the car park which is a typical cafe bar, could be anywhere in the world. They serve international food and it is fine, although most dishes which were supposed to be hot were only warm.
The News Cafe is popular with locals and was packed on the Thursday night and busy on others so quite noisy and slightly disturbed our sleep, but fortunately it didn't close too late.

Friendly staff, very spacious rooms. The News cafe gets a bit noisy on Thursdays but the food is good and they have an extensive cocktail menu. Clean rooms, internet connection is slow and sometimes no signal

“Nice hotel, spacious clean rooms, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

The Mondior Summit is a very nice hotel.

Rooms are extremely spacious, and very clean. Nice bathroom with separate shower and bath tub, 2 sinks, and the regular amenities (shampoo, conditioner, bath gel,etc.).
Also a small kitchenette, with fridge, microwave, sink, etc. is there.

No in-house restaurant, but there is an excellent News Cafe (South African chain) on the hotel property, which serves nice food (don't expect anything local, though), drinks and especially on Thursdays is a nice place to be! The News Cafe provides the room service meals (until 10.30 PM) and is also the place to get breakfast.

Friendly service in the hotel, maybe not the quickest, but no complaints!

This hotel is not a 4-star hotel like they are stating, but more a very good/decent 3-star hotel (looking from European/US standards).

Definitely recommend!

“A disastrous stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2009

Yes, the hotel is very nice but I wouldn’t dream of staying there any time in the future. In our group some found there rooms open when returning back home. Breakfast was included in the price and we asked the staff in reception several times that we could chose which items we liked to. The answer was always “Yes, you can do that”. When settling the bills at check out it was quite another story. And worse of all – they were totally uninterested in trying to solve the issue. Orange juice was not included. Some of the items were not included. We had to check very careful because some bills shouldn’t have been there – even to their standard. It was a mess with 41 unhappy tour members!
