Pleasantly surprised by our room (#30). It was very clean with decent thread count linen on the bed! The bathroom was spacious and clean with a flushable toilet and we had no problems getting hot water in the shower which was solar powered. There were no electric lights in the room just candles which was rather romantic. Each evening our room was sprayed and mosquito coils left in the room. The setting was amazing. We had a palm civet cat on our roof, a resident crocodile in the river opposite our room and a mongoose strolling past our balcony. The camp has 5 elephants and one baby elephant. I particularly enjoyed the elephant bathing where you rode an elephant to the river supposedly to bathe it but ended up having the shower yourself! The elephant safari was the most enjoyable part of our stay where we saw one horned rhinos. Truly amazing. Ram the resident naturalist was a wealth of information on the animals, birds and plants and herbs. My only disappointment was the food which was mostly served buffet style and was bland. I would have preferred more authentic flavorful Nepalese food.
